Today's random set is 4078 T-Rex, released during 2001. It's one of 46 Studios sets produced that year. It contains 18 pieces.

It's owned by 134 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $12.00, or eBay.

The horror. The horror...

Double Jurassic! I mean, technically this was part of the JP3 promotional sets, so...

By in New Zealand,

This looks nothing like the Dinosaur that attacked today's RMotD...

By in United States,

I paid $10 to buy one of these just to get the orange 1x1 Technic bricks, which I promptly buried inside the front of one of my cars.

Today's RMotD: "Huh. You're smaller than I expected."

That looks much more like, “Kill me!”

Dr. Ellie Sattler: T-T-Rex?
John Hammond: [nodding] Mm-hm.
Dr. Ellie Sattler: You said you've got a T-Rex?
John Hammond: [nodding] Uh-huh.
Dr. Alan Grant: [grabbing Hammond's shoulder] Say again?
John Hammond: [smiling] We have a T-Rex.
(Amended/Extended scene): [Grant looking at 'set']...No...no, you don't...

A bit of a small T rex compared to today's RMotD

By in Turkey,

Just terrible, it shows that this was made around 2000's. Very little came out good around those years.

By in Germany,

Recently got this one. It might not seem very exciting, but I like these small oddities in LEGOs history and the Coca Cola promotions from Studios are certainly one of them. I think that this is actually great for what it is supposed to be. A little brick built movie prop dinosaur.

By in Netherlands,

The your dinosaurs are wrong guy would have a field day with this one.

That said, it was just a promotional, on with generous recolours too! The parts to build dinosaurs were also more limited back then, as System only had the pre-moulded ones from Dino Island and the ones with deliberately general purpose parts from Dinosaurs (2001). So this goes above and beyond by making the entire thing orange!

@WolfpackBrickStudios I forgot just how many have been orange. And that list does't even list the various orange Dino Island Pteranodons (which are not really 'dinosaurs' ofc) and the orange-bellied Stegosaurus and Triceratops from the same line.

Weird flex but okay...?

By in United Kingdom,

I wonder who at the studio decided they needed an orange Barney knock-off. No wonder today's RMotD doesn't look scared if this is the T-Rex he's facing

Hmm didn't know about this one. Now I kind of want it.

When you want a T-rex from "Jurassic Park", but you only have the budget for a T-rex from Temu.

He looks like he's in immense pain. Something went terribly wrong with the genetic resequencing.

By in Netherlands,

Aren't you a bit small for a T-rex?

No wonder they went extinct....

Only one thing here: ORANGE dragon arms.
