I've always liked that realistic computer piece. Yes, it could break easily but it was still cool how it had the detailing of a computer like the keyboards.

Always wanted that yardstick tile

Ah, the OG flower pieces. I miss those things.

It needs to be about 20% cooler.

Is the burger involved in the fashion making in any sense? Burger hat? I'd love that.

If I know anything about burger color-coding, that is just a lettuce sandwich.

My kid sister really enjoyed that burger, actually. It was icing on the cake.

The ruler is one of only three printed minifigure-sized rulers ever seen in sets, and the only one that has scale-meaningful graduations. This ruler measures studs, meaning it very closely approximates minifigure-scale feet (which are just under 1 stud if you scale minifigures to human height).

The other two rulers appeared in 41071 and 42614, and both are nonsense. The first would make 4 studs equal to about 7 mystery units. The other makes 4 studs equal to about 6 mystery units. Of course, Lego also typically marks clearances in "meters," but the numbers are wildly inconsistent. I even came up with an in-world backstory for this, involving a metric system devised in another bloody revolution gone wrong, but this time defining meters as fractions of circles of longitude instead of latitude, resulting in a measurement system that changes based on one's latitude. So I suppose these two rulers are perfectly consistent as latitude-variable decimeters. Problem solved!

Lego also made a series of desk rulers with inch and centimeter graduations, but those don't count for minifigures either.

By in Netherlands,

One of the originals.
You can see some of Belville' DNA in the presentation as it has some design overlap with 5943 Interior Designer. At least,, it reminds me of that with the scattered builds. Friends would later move to more focussed builds with lots of details.

The last anyone saw Emma, she was off to an art school in Paris.

@AllenSmith: Be fair to 41071. That ruler came from a fantasy setting, so is perfectly justified in using units that don't exist in our world. And talking about Lego rulers reminds me of 852759.

Which explains the lack of capes.

"Why no scissors?"

If I'm remembering right, there weren't any at this point. I remember using part 30126 in grey as a stand-in when I was a kid.

That transparent cup!

By in United Kingdom,

Kind of fitting, considering that today's model from the Friends advent calendar was a sewing machine. It would fit right into the scene here!

Not a single sticker in this set back in the day.
