By in New Zealand,

Very vintage looking, even for 1971.

By in Germany,

I posted this as file & render on the BL-Gallery and it got no likes. I have no idea why this would be so unloved. I had the honour to restore it for someone and the finished result makes you happy: printed large and small doors, six-width and articulation. The look makes it a vintage truck for your LEGO town! Especially the fish logo makes you grin and I think, it deserves a modern City remake!

Vintage vehicles look so awkward, perched high above the wheels like that.

Lego used to be more creative. I wish we had a refrigerated truck now. To my knowledge they never made one this century in City, Creator or similar themes.

I for one also love the 'vintage' look. Not sure what the problem is??

Back to the good old days when LEGO wasn’t so stingy with printed pieces.

Also, you could build medium to large-scale sets back then without going over the 300-piece count. Good old days indeed…

Like the car door with windows piece.

By in Netherlands,

Pretty good for its time. And as always the steering is amazing.

By in United States,

Is that a LEGO-original logo or one of those borrowed from real life Denmark or Germany? If it's an original, I would love to see the graphic designers sneak it into a modern City set, just for the deepness of the cut.

There's something fishy about this set...

I wasn’t quite born yet, but somehow a copy of similar style set 381 Lorry and Fork Lift Truck became part of my earliest collection. I assume those doors were painted/printed at the time and not dual-mounded?

Nice thick opaque paint with good color matching. Take a look, modern Lego, and do that again!

Love the transport doors and the idea of steering the vehicle using the LEGO brick.

By the way: How much is the fish?"

If you show respect to the man in the ice cream van, he'll tell you. Always remember: It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!"

And now: Move your...

Dual molded doors, prints, steering. I hope Lego will be able one day to offer us this technology, quality and service.

Oh and btw: I did own a similar truck and those are FUN to play with and to redesign!

Painted doors, not dual-molded. They wouldn’t produce dual-molded parts until decades later.

@Murdoch17: In fairness; the set does come from Denmark, so...:D
