321 Pieces? I wonder if that was planned.

By virtue of it being a set with instructions it definitely was. ;)
Is there some significance of the number 321 to the Eiffel tower?
Or just the fact that it is a short countdown for a somewhat rocket looking set?
And yet people say remakes are down-sized...

This was downsized from 10181, so Lego just can't make up its mind.

I have a coworker who is currently building that, but she says she's had multiple pieces that were missing, and the latest one has prevented her from continuing until they send the replacement (and yes, I did offer to see if I could pull one from my collection to tide her over).

I have a dollar in my wallet that says the part is either trapped in a plastic bag, or was misused somewhere else in the build.

Or maybe it has to do with a significant plot point in Brad Bird’s 2015 movie “Tomorrowland”? :-)
My first Architecture set. For the scale it's kinda impressive.
The building techniques involved made for a fun build too. Also a very nice box (for something from the age where "display inlays" were from a distant past).

She’s not as experienced as me, but she’s built the Colosseum and other landmarks that she’s visited without these problems. I don’t know what the incidental missing parts are, but the one that has her stuck is a 1x2 brick w/ clip on the side. She says she lays the bags flat on a table and runs her hands over them to check for parts, and that’s a bit chunky to not notice that way.
My brother had this while going through a whole Eiffel Tower phase. Well made set in retrospect now that I think of it.

What about 21044?
I thought this wasn't too dissimilar to the version I built in 21044 but now I'm actually looking at the two and...yeah the scale has made them quite different
ah the french
THE EIFFEL TOWER!
(The small one from Vegas.)
This was one of the better Architecture sets from the time as it wasn't as basic of a build and it didn't involve needless and pretentious repetitive building as much as some other sets from the line back then. The subject matter not being a boxy tower really helps too.
Well, 2014 isn't as 'early' as the ones from say, 2011. But still, it stood out to me at the time.
But most of all they nailed the shape, which isn't easy to do with a grid-based brick building system

Where’s the France flag?
