Today's random set is 1712 Crossbow Cart, released during 1994. It's one of 4 Castle sets produced that year. It contains 23 pieces and 1 minifig, and its retail price was US$2.

It's owned by 1,700 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you should find it for sale at BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $69.00, or eBay.

By in New Zealand,

The guy in this set left the dragon knights and joined the fright knights (6004), operating the same vehicle.

I remember this was one of the earliest sets where I bought multiple copies.

I really liked the set by itself, but my eleven-year-old self was totally enchanted by the new dragon shield (which I gave to one of my heroes, so he could summon the green dragon). Plus I wound up with a spare knight, and it was never a bad thing to have too many of those.

Some vehicle. At least the Flintstones get to sit down and coast once they get up to speed.

This thing looks a bit unwieldy and it's probably tough to use by yourself. He'd probably be better with just the sword and shield or spear.

I think what you mean is- crossbows cart

I do like those smaller cart wheels, wish they would come back

Yeaaaahhhh....classic Castle, back in the day when sets had a good selection of parts and pieces and a minifig or two, and weren’t stupidly priced. (Re-release Castle button —————->)

(Ten minutes before he gets mugged for all his gear because he’s too exhausted to defend himself)

By in Germany,

One of the few Dragon Masters sets I'm missing.
Luckily it's neither that special model-wise nor parts-wise, though that black spear was nice in 1994.

Was given this as a gift during my sister’s christening so I didn’t feel overlooked or left out, don’t think I ever managed to keep it assembled for long

Hey look, it's Thomas Magnum dressed up as a knight.

The shield design always interested me on heraldry back then. A dragon to some, a wyvern to others. It's a leg thing.

4807 Fire Attack but there's no fire and it's the Dragon Knights, not the Bull Knights.

I like the Dragon Knights era. The minifigs were colorful and the sets were between grounded and fantasy. Which I adore.

He'd probably be better off pulling this cart instead of pushing it. But admittedly, this looks cooler. This set is mostly great as a parts pack and army building set. With those weapons you could really build out the ranks. Alas, I only have one of these (the boxed version), but then again, I'm not the biggest fan of the Dragon Knights. The Castle theme went downhill after 1992, IMHO.

Yes, it was a great little weapons cart. If I remember right, there was a polybag and a box version of the same set. I think this is the box version. Nice as a supplement for weapons but also since the dragon masters didn't have many of grunts.

For real. Dragon Masters had such a bad ratio of knights to soldiers. Always pleasing to get more of the grunts. And it's never bad to stock up the armory for future battles!

I dunno how parents felt back in the day, but at 2USD, you were likely to get a parent to buy it for you, and you would get a ton of play value of it, either as its set, or putting the parts into another set to make it better.

In 1994, $2 was about 24 minutes of work at US federal minimum wage, and many families (even in the US) would have eaten meals that cost $2 or less combined.
