Not my favorite in real life … set looks great though

Sheesh, this thing looks like it's big enough to need a tow truck just to be moved around.

By in New Zealand,

From one of the best years for Technic.

It needs more chrome. The silver lacquer just isn't the same.

The actual model, or the fact that this looks like it’s the type of tow truck that can pull 18-wheelers?

My father was a tow truck driver and the rhino is my spirit animal.
I really should have this set.

I don't like the tubes as fenders, but it does have true dual tires.

By in Denmark,

Remember seeing this in all the catalogues

By in Hungary,

One of the best Technic sets from the first years of the studless era. Fortunately, I still have this set from the beginning in the better (silver-lacquered) version.

Looks incredible

By in Sweden,

This was my first set coming out of my dark age, so it holds a special place in my heart. Still stands proudly on display.

By in Netherlands,

The set that brought me out of my Dark Ages. Later bought another one that came with light grey parts on stead of the chrome parts. So there are two versions.

Now this is a memorable Technic set! The colors, the functions, the size, the red lines that move along the whole length of the model.
It's great! 2005-2008 was a special era of Technic to me. Lots of firsts, and the small amount of sets made each one stand out. All models were also completely different vehicle types, or so vastly different in size that they're clearly distinct.

This is a great 1877 parts set for other creative builds (check out B model of truck with trailer and crane), when large Technic sets rarely went above 1200 pieces. However, like US vehicles was a bit over-sized for no real reason, with plenty of empty space behind the paneling. The crane was great, but needed to be on a turntable, the pneumatic was different, but some gearing could have performed the same lift function, and apart from working engine and steering, there was plenty of space for more functions like retractable stabilizes etc.

Now I really want to see this set in person!

By in Germany,

That's from a time when Technic was still cool.
Even the B-model (remember those? R. I. P. ) was great.

Renegade II had a B-model two months ago.

I was talking about Technic.
And even for other themes (except for Creator 3 in 1 of course) Renegade II is a rare exception.

The most intimidating-looking Technic set?

I mean, that and the Galaxy Explorer were technically under the Creator theme, weren’t they? And the B/C models in both cases were throwbacks to other sets from those same themes, so those were definitely special circumstances.

It's one of those sets that get me in Technic years ago.

Keep in mind that Bionicle started out as a subtheme of Technic.

They're both Icons, so you are technically incorrect. The worst kind of incorrect!
