From the weird vehicle phase DC went through.
Can't sell a DC set without Batman in it! He's renowned for facing off against Black Manta, Aquaman just hung about to see if he could help this time around.
Lasers....
Sharks....
LASER-SHARKS!!!
I wish I'd gotten either this or 76095. In addition to loving underwater-themed sets, I wanted a Black Manta figure.

Overbearing assistants!
Also, I'm going to beat @AustinPowers to the reference. Sharks with frickin' laser beams on their heads!
The best year of dc. I miss this wave of justice league. Cool vehicles and great storytelling— not to mention great characters that have been practically unseen since. (I do not count 2017 atrocities)
I ordered some of the trans neon orange windscreen from this set for potential Ice Planet MOCs. Never got around to it yet but still worth it especially now that the color is retired.
I always wanted this set. I really dig it. I love the Black Manta minifig.

Honestly, these two are pretty sensible by Lego Super Heroes vehicle standards.

A phase? Mate, it's been a vehicle phase since 2012!

I said WEIRD vehicle phase, not vehicle phase.
I'm sure I tracked down this version of the Bat-sub on eBay, but I never bought any of the bigger sets with Black Manta or his submarines.

I got two copies of each, but for some reason I don’t think I’ve put either version of Black Manta on a layout. I think the closest I’ve come is looking up the roster of the Legion of Doom, and realizing there were a few that didn’t already exist, and weren’t all that feasible to figbash.
Gotta love an underwater rescue when the submersible only has room for one. C'mon, LEGO!

That's what the chain and scuba suit are for, silly! Robin just has really good grip strength (or would that be... clutch power?)
Good content. Two subs and a battle shark, nice.
I had no idea how good we had it back then

It’s alright, Robin’s got his diving gear on, he’ll be fine. “Air tanks” are called that because they infinitely produce air, right?
As a collector of underwater sets, I got this one a month ago in mint condition without the figs. I love the Manta vehicle, great shaping with relatively few parts. I'm also glad I was able to obtain the trans-neon orange windshield as new - it is exclusive to this set in this color.
I never knew the windscreen is tr neon orange. Cool.
It's a good Super Heroes set, but I never was wowed by the ruins section. Except for the use of column bricks it doesn't look like much. And the vehicles were just single-seaters, so they're not what I'm looking for for submarines.
And then there's the super jumper...
That said.... a quite well-rounded playset. The shark adds a lot too.
Oh, and at least it's something other than just Batman and maybe also Joker. DC is still on life support these last few years and in comparison this set's an amazing offering.
Classic Stingray set from 1998? No.
Classic Atlantis set from 2010? No.
Reminds me of both, though--the rare DC/Marvel set that piques my interest as more than parts.
…hi Arthur.

I wish I had gotten this, and I wish LEGO still did DC sets like this.
@Binnekamp:
I recently found a need for an Ironman body with silver instead of gold, and concluded the Mark 47 best suited my needs. Problem is, I got home after buying one, and only then did I notice the heels were cracked. That set didn’t include a stupidjumper, but they did exist when that set came out, and there’s a strong possibility that if it’s not just dark-red from that era being prone to cracking, someone may have used it with one of those. I remember testing one on a common set of plain legs, just to see what might happen, but I can’t remember what the specific damages incurred looked like. I just remember that it messed up the heels right where this minifig was cracked.
