So many great, long-retired vintage parts in these sets - the steering mechanism, 5x6 plate with hole, color-matched doors with transparent windows, Lego logo printed 1x2 brick. These are truly classic sets.

Part of me was really hoping everyone would be saying the exact comments they did two weeks ago

Now that's nice......missed it three weeks ago (some people need to go back to math class....) because I was on a flight from Tokyo back home at the time, so now another chance!

Cool set, particularly because of that steering mechanism, those doors and the crane piece.

Some people have been spending the past two days at an outdoor show with no internet connection, so have to hurriedly post before going to bed. But you're right. Some people do need to go back to math class, and remember that VSotW lasts a whole week, while a flight from Tokyo to the Netherlands does not.

That depends on the plane and the route ;-)
(luckily mine didn't)

But sorry, I didn't check when you last posted in that other article.

I once met a family at the Detroit airport who had spent the past 24 hours traveling back from New Zealand, but I imagine even they had a chance to quickly connect to wifi during transfers. If there's any plane that's capable of doing a nonstop direct flight from Tokyo to the Atlantic seaboard, it's going to get you there in less than a full day (and certainly in less than a full week). And I'm guessing you don't make these trips by boat.

Does the red 1x2 brick rotate? Or is it not placed properly on the model?

Sorry, but during transfers, even if there's wifi, Brickset isn't the first thing on my mind.....does that disqualify me as a true AFOL?

The red brick is placed on top of an axle, which controls the front axle steering.

That car looks like the new Jaguar.

It rotates: see part 799c800. Also, it’s not Deja Vu because this is the US version, something @Huwbot loves!
