By in New Zealand,

I liked the Juniors theme way better than the 4+ sets we get nowadays.

I built a bigger version of the arrow trailer using 1x1 round plates as the individual lights, but the "on" lights are trans-fluorescent-yellow, and the "off" lights are modern trans-orange. Looks really cool when you tag it with a UV light source.

Definitely. They had way more helpful prints, among other things.

Those are some really great printed pieces.

They’ve done more prints for Juniors than Star Wars for 2015… but I’m not bitter.

(I’m kidding by the way, but this is what it feels like…)

Is that the reason for such a high aftermarket price? Otherwise this set is very simple.

Road work ahead? Uh, yeah, I sure hope it does!

By in Turkey,

That blunt car chassis bothers me everytime I see it in a set. I just don't like it. Inheritied one from a friend, I can't throw it away, can't use it... And it's from a Friends set..

Might want to put the arrow on the other side so it’s not directing people right into you…

Is there any real difference though?

I actually think some juniors sets are pretty good, this included. Another highlight is the tractor from this year, although I guess that's technically 4+...

By in Germany,

You can criticize the parts, loks and price of junior sets, but one has to admit that the construction sets come aith a lot of play value.

By in Netherlands,

No one thus far is actually criticising Juniors/4+ as such, though. The fact that these sets used to give excellent value for (printed) parts is one of Lego's worst kept secrets.

These days, the value isn't AS great, but it's still good enough.

Same can be said about the 1997-2000 Town Junior range. People simply weren't getting the point these were intended for the exactly same thing (ok and combined with a certain lack of "real" Town sets at the time).

When the skip is on the truck the lifter cannot reach? And when on the ground, that is a mighty steep ramp to lift up onto the truck. Just seems to be a poor replacement to 4201 which my kids had a lot of fun with.

I wish City would do more construction sets at a smaller price range (that isn't 4+).
Also, I like the orange digger (?) with tow hook arm on the other end. Black and orange work well, and that rollcage is not black for once.

I'm reminded of that video of a road buckling in the recent heat as people are driving on it.

There, that sign on the truck? That was I was talking about way back when 6427 was Random Set of the Day (how was that nearly six years ago...???), when I said that if Lego were to do something with the "road work" sign image these days, they'd redesign the silhouette to be a minifigure instead of a human.

It's not an actual sign piece like those were, being printed on the tile here. But it does prove my point ^^

(On a different note, agreed with @Binnekamp that the digger's colour scheme here is fantastic!)

By in Denmark,

At first sight I thougth it was one of those stupid juniorized sets from the hard times around 1998˜ ish - and already hated it! Then I saw it was a REAL Juniors set from 2015 - and i’d wish I could buy for it for my son - times are a changing…

I meant 6427. I'm usually good at catching it when I edit a post and it loses the link, but I guess I missed it this time and didn't notice until after the edit window had closed...
