Review: 77241 2 Fast 2 Furious Honda S2000
Posted by CapnRex101,
The Fast & Furious franchise features numerous memorable cars and a couple have appeared in the Speed Champions theme already. There are certainly others I was expecting ahead of 77241 2 Fast 2 Furious Honda S2000, although the pink Honda is extremely eye-catching!
On the other hand, Suki's car is wrapped in vinyl decoration onscreen, which does not bode well for stickers on the LEGO version. Fortunately, a number of the decorated parts provided are printed, including large areas of the details on the sides, which goes some way to allaying concerns about stickers.
Summary
77241 2 Fast 2 Furious Honda S2000, 300 pieces.
£22.99 / $26.99 / €26.99 | 7.7p/9.0c/9.0c per piece.

Suki's Honda S2000 stands out as something unusual and fun for Speed Champions
- Stunning colour scheme and livery
- Recognisable shape for an S2000
- Excellent interior
- New windscreen element
- Large quantity of essential stickers
Minifigure
Dom and Brian have appeared in the previous Fast & Furious sets; probably the movie series' most important characters. Suki, by contrast, only appears in 2 Fast 2 Furious, but is certainly memorable, thanks to her extremely aggressive racing style! Purple and pink work perfectly for her attire, though its more risqué features have been toned down, unsurprisingly.
I love the metallic silver longhorn skull on Suki's belt, cleverly adapted to resemble the LEGO animal skull piece. Moreover, it is good to see this hair element in medium nougat for the first time. The character's facial expressions look alright too, although I find the missing white area on her teeth odd and this seems to be a deliberate choice, rather than a misprint.
Like most Speed Champions drivers, Suki is equipped with a wrench to help remove the wheel caps from her car.

The Completed Model
Honda is new to the Speed Champions theme and the S2000 is undoubtedly a good place to begin, as one of the manufacturer's most famous cars. The vehicle has very few straight lines, which can be troublesome for a LEGO model, though I think the bodywork shaping is generally effective and especially so towards the nose.
Also, capturing the car's forward rake was paramount and the model looks excellent from the side, due in part to the wheel inserts developed specifically for the Honda S2000. Additionally, the pink colour obviously stands out as something completely new to Speed Champions.
76917 2 Fast 2 Furious Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) was launched a couple of years ago and looks superb on display beside the Honda, as two participants in the opening street race of 2 Fast 2 Furious. The scaling between this duo is accurate, but I still narrowly prefer the Skyline because its shape is just a bit more distinctive.
On the other hand, the front of the car translates flawlessly to LEGO form. 1x2 curved wedge slopes work well to create the vents on either side of the radiator and I love the 2x2 triangular tiles under the headlights, recreating the design of the real car. The headlights themselves are printed, but I was disappointed to see a sticker required for the radiator.
The use of stickers on the bonnet was to be expected, however. The swirling patterns and tiny Honda logo look splendid, but there is a slight difference between the pink on the stickers and the pink plastic. Even so, my example is actually not too bad when compared to that shown in Jang's review, where the colour of the stickers appears alien to adjoining elements.
Thankfully, the 2x4 curved slopes and 1x6 tiles on the sides of the vehicle are printed, forming much of the anime imagery. There are still 28 stickers provided in total, so quite a high number, but I really expected even more on a car with such extensive vinyl detailing in the movie.
One of this set's most interesting features is the new windscreen piece, giving a more realistic alternative for open-top cars to the long-established 3x6x1 windscreen. The printed pink frame looks nice and I love the printed 1x1 tile placed inside as well, based on the screen seen briefly in the movie, displaying an animated version of Suki.
In fact, the whole interior is among the best I have seen in Speed Champions. Pink controllers form the seat backs, which transition to white pieces further down, matching the fuzzy seats of the onscreen car. The silver pen clipped between the seats is a nice detail as well, representing a NOS canister, with stickered gauges to monitor the nitrous system on the dashboard.
The back of the car is probably my least favourite section of the car, only because it looks very flat. However, I cannot really fault the designer here because the curvature of the bodywork on the real car is subtle and unsuitable for any LEGO curved slopes. The bodywork directly behind the seats looks perfect though, angled forwards and integrating a pair of printed 1x1 slopes.
I like how the S2000's distinctive bulge is constructed at the back, between the number plate and the Honda logo. The twin exhausts look nice too, but I was surprised to find that the rear lights use stickers because vital features like these are generally printed or even brick-built in Speed Champions sets.
Overall
77241 2 Fast 2 Furious Honda S2000 is a welcome addition to the growing series of Fast and Furious cars and the broader Speed Champions garage. The pink colour stands out from prior sets and I love the anime-inspired livery, even though that significantly increases the number of stickers. The stickers look fine with proper colour matching, but that is not guaranteed, sadly.
The shaping of the car is overshadowed by its bright colour, but is also quite faithful to the real car, especially around the front. The interior is richly detailed too, so I am very pleased with the Honda S2000 on the whole. £22.99, $26.99 or €26.99 is the normal price for Speed Champions single-packs and feels reasonable to me, so I can certainly recommend this set.

Gosh that pink is LOUD. No interest in the films, but may need to get this just for the color it would bring to a LEGO city.
I kinda feel like the art of the girl on the side should've been minifigurized, curious what other people think.
By comparison, it looks better than the GTR, but I still don't think it captures the car that well.
based on the reverence picture maybe coral would be a better color. But in real live pink is the color.
Couple of issues here.
1. Stickered tails. Such a bad decision.
2. Missed opportunity to make the 1x2 grille/vent in pink. Would have looked perfect over black for the front. Could have been used in Dreamzzz.
3. The back end feels a bit too long. I know there's a body kit, but it doesn't look quite right.
Still going to get it and see about modifying it a bit, I had an S years ago and it was a blast. Would love to make it look a bit less body-kittish. I wonder if those side panels exist in unprinted form?
I wish Lego would print all stickers on transparent backing.
FnF branding aside It’s a struggle to connect the shape of this to the RL Honda S2000, I certainly would not say ‘recognisable’ but it’s Speed Champions so I love it regardless.

Looks more like a Mitsubishi 3000gt

I think I'm going to try to shorten it a stud in the front and rear.
That's a nope for me. I do like the S2000, but rather an unmodified one. And I don't think this captures its shapes particularly well. And even if there had still been any doubt, the awkward mix of stickers and prints do the rest.
As for the figure, I do get that Devon Aoki might be one of the most impossible persons on the planet to capture in a minifig (minidoll instead maybe?), but I think they could at least have done something with her eyes and face print? The hair doesn't work either. If I had to guess which character this was I'd probably think Mia had her hair bleached....

Yes.
I don't mind the pink, I just don't like cars. It's not for me, thanks.
I love this set and I'm super happy to see a "girly" car in the Speed Champions lineup. I haven't bought a SC car in awhile because I got tired of the constant parade of samey-looking hyper/super cars.
But I'll definitely be picking this up with the Hibiscus next month - girliest LEGO order outside of Friends!
it hurts the eyes.
Very glad that the colours of the stickers, while not perfect, are a lot better than Jang's (and all US reviews I've seen). Also @CapnRex101, as this went 'out of stock' almost immediately and wasn't marked as sponsored, was this bought recently, when Lego had had a chance to produce a second batch?
@sir_vasco: Nope; you are completely, totally, and 100% correct there 'sir' (:D). The side-art should have been 'minifigged'.
I look it as the 'inverse' of how I feel about minifigure-mechs (a mech piloted by a minifigure) having: thumbs, knees, elbows and other body-joints minifigs don't.
Looking at the reference, I would say Lego should have selected 'salmon' as the colour instead of pink. Considering the medium, I think the shape is reasonably good. I thought Suki was wearing only shorts but, upon verification, she is wearing chaps so the minifig is also reasonably close.
Based on the picture, coral definitely looks better. But Pink should be the color, so I can accept that.
I think overall they did a good job with the shaping. I think very few LEGO cars actually look like the car at this scale, so just get close.
I think the side decal should have been minifigurized ultimately, but I can respect why they kept it official design.
Hopefully they will continue to make cars from this franchise. I'd love a Supra or the Mitsubishi.

I bought this from B&M a few weeks ago, so it might be worth checking there if you have a store local to you. As far as I know, that is the only place it is available in the UK apart from LEGO.com and LEGO stores, where stock has been patchy.
The color on the stickers on my copy was god awful compared to this one

I think the art can pass as an Elves mini-doll, so maybe that's why they didn't change it.
This set is great though. I love the use of the controller piece for the headrests. One of my sons loves Speed Champions and will thoroughly enjoy this.
If the car is wrapped in vinyl decoration during the movie, then I would have thought stickers would have been more appropriate for all the decorations, so that you get the authentic movie inspired experience of wrapping the decals around the car yourself.

Thanks. No hurry yet. Just good to know that an earlier European factory release had fairly reasonable colour stickers.
Not found this set out in the wild yet. Only been available on and off from Lego.com.

No thanks. They’re infinitely more harder to apply than the normal stickers, which you can move around after a bit using the Windex trick. Once you place a transparent sticker, that’s it. Any movement results in visible reside underneath and around the edges. Not to mention hair or dust underneath.

So it's basically a choice between stickers that are a bit more difficult to apply and might get messed up versus stickers that look bad regardless.....
I think my pick would be prints....
(though considering the not always great print quality and margins that are all over the place, that's no safe bet either....)
The minifigure is one of the worst likenesses to a character/actor, and the seats of the car are too far in front. The overall proportions of the car are therefore severely lacking.
I wonder if magenta would have looked better.
It's probably all the wrong type of car (not a car guy here at all, I wouldn't recognise the differences if they were right in front of me probably...), but between the colour and the open top, this one makes me think you could fill it with three of https://brickset.com/minifigs/toy006 and you'd have an at least passable addition to expand 7597 to represent a bit more of the scene from that movie!
Of course, then the absence of minifigure-scale Potato Heads becomes really obvious... Still, it was among my first thoughts when this set was announced, and every time I see it I think of that again xD

Then they just need to supply 2 sets of stickers. Normal for everyday use and clear for 'pro-appliers'.

Definitely!
I don't care for 8-wide Speed Champions cars, but if you try to build a real-world car in LEGO, make it 100% LEGO.
Barbie Dream Car is 100% my set of the year for 2025

Well, I noticed that airbubbles do disappear after a couple of years. Not ideal, but still better than vice-versa.
Set 79105 had one large sticker applied on a round piece with a tiny window just in the middle. Looked horrible when first applied, but now it's surprisingly transparent.
Was the same (though not as drastic) for the fence tiles in 79003.
As for hair, dust etc. a clean work space reduces that a lot...
Most people are astounded when they discover that I have never seen a single Fast and Furious movie.
Anyway, love the look of this car to add to the ever-impressive Speed Champions collection.
I hope they do the orange 90’s Supra next! That car is iconic from the first film and it would go well with Dom’s Charger. Also, another bright, unique color!
Please show the sticker sheet!
My only interest in this car is that new windscreen piece. I hope they release an unprinted version.
Not sure how well it would work for a classic car (a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air for instance). What do others think?
For a convertible maybe, not sure how it would line up with a roof or what pieces one could then use for the rear window of a car.

The 1x2 grille in bright pink would've been great for me to finish the look on my kids buses (recolours of the dark azure bus from 60335), I've got a pink one for my daughter with a flat silver front grille instead of pink..
I grabbed this in Osaka three weeks ago. It was the fourth place that sells Lego in Japan that I had checked. It definitely was in short supply, suggesting either a small print run or high popularity.
I don't buy Speed Champions sets but I like The Fast and the Furious films so I always grab the F&F-branded ones. I would have much preferred Han's car from Tokyo Drift over this quickly forgotten car. But I won't complain about the model—it's really fun and makes Brian's car just look like a sad brick-built shadow beside it. I just hope the popularity of this encourages Lego to continue making F&F cars so we can get other characters from the series.

I've never seen any of the movies, but I bought 76912 to get a Charger in eight-wide.
I would always prefer clear stickers, in terms of colour swapping or MOCs they give you far more options
The Devin Aoki minifig isn't as bad as i thought XD Definitely a good take on an iconic car and character in the FnF series. If the price hikes on Lego meant less stickers and more e actual printing then i wouldn't mind but at the moment i can only wish.... *sigh*

You can advertise the sticker sheet itself on the Lego website if it was defective.
If it had no printed parts (apart from lights/ grills) then you could omit all the stickers and build it in plain pink.
Then it would be a nice model of a car, not a tie- in, which would be good.
If you were interested in the movie, you could add the stickers.

I agree, It would've been cool to see that. I do believe that it would've been a nod to Lego collectors/fans, which would be mostly the demographic that would appreciate it.
On the other hand, I believe that Lego expects more casual or Non-Collectors to purchase this set, who would rather have a faithful image of the anime as shown in the film. This demography might get the set as a cool Lego-fied Suki's Car, more than a Lego set that resembles Suki's car (which I think a minifigurized version would lean towards.

I wouldn't be surprised if a very similar discussion was had when this set's graphics were being designed.

I think if it had been 6-wide, more city-style, then absolutely yes. It's always cool when things are morphed a bit to fit the minifigure universe. But since Speed Champions are trying to replicate real vehicles as realistic as possible, I think I prefer the graphics NOT to be minifigurized in this case.
SC are compatible with minifigs, I would be disappointed if you couldn't seat figures in them, but they are not scaled to minifigs, which is very obvious when a figure is standing beside an 8-wide car. But minifig heads look great through the windows when they sit inside, and that's a cool scale compromise that I appreciate from SC. They are their own thing, outside of the actual minifig-universe. That's how I see it anyway.
I am frankly shocked at how different your minifig and stickers look when compared to my set here in the US. I complained to Lego, and they sent me a new sticker sheet that had proper matching colors [the original sticker sheet I received had a pink color closer to the head rest color!]. My minifig's torso has horrible opacity such that you don't even realize the lower part is supposed to be her skin tone! This is an amazing set, even for someone who's never seen any of the movies, but I really wish the quality control for customers in the US matched those in Europe!
Lots of shirtless guys & bathing suite-clad women - like lifeguards and beach goers - have had printed belly buttons for 20+ years. :)
Seems to be a major shortage of the S2000 in a lot of areas, and a lot of people on social media are reporting that it is either sold out everywhere, or stores haven't reveived stock. It is almost always out of stock or on back order via the LEGO website. eBay seems to be flooded with scalpers selling for double the RRP, but so many people say they haven't even seen it hit the shops since the June 1st release. I've personally tried 3 Smyths and 3 Toymasters in the East of England, and all have said they haven't had it in stock yet.
@CapnRex101 - Do you have any insider news regarding stock availability of this set, or if there's going to be a restock soon? Have you heard of similar stock shortages? (16th August 2025)
