Glorified flying gunrack...wait, is it December already?

Oh how I miss the cheap battle packs. And I'm not even a star wars army builder.

A fantastic Battle Pack. I got 4 of these things to replace half of the guys from my 4 copies of 7655 in my Kashyyyk display, but the other half just bolstered the numbers and things started looking pretty good. While I did hide the main builds of the Swamp Speeder behind a Turbo Tank (which is where all the replaced clones now reside), at least the vehicle is also an existing thing in Star Wars. It's scaled down, but it's effective to have something from the movie (They're actually easier to see on Felucia during Order 66 for a brief few seconds than anywhere on Kashyyk) instead of just some random build. And the incorporation of the stud shooters is quite effective on these guys, too. Great form and function set, and while the price is a few bucks more than it could have been, for the new mold of the helmets and the sheer amount of printing on the figs, I'll allow it; it's about as perfect as you can get for a Battle Pack.

We've had so many of these flying gunracks in different battle packs, please give us a crab droid for once!

I've bought a lot of the battle packs, but I'm not an army builder either; the only one I bought more than one of was 8014, of which I bought two. I also have two of 40557, but that's not tagged "Battle Pack." The only other set tagged "Battle Pack" I own two of is 7595. All that said, I miss cheap battle packs, too. I would have loved to see a Wookiee one, although I get why they never did one, as it probably would have required at least one or two new molds.

By in Australia,

Ah this one is peak. Had this set and I still have one of each trooper on my Clone Wars shelf. I have no idea where the other two got to however.

By in Canada,

The more traditional camouflage clones in this set seem to be based on a Hasbro figure. I know this is a well-liked set of battle packs and I guess they add some variety, but I think it would have been better to stick to the movie and make them all Biker Scout-types.

Cool battle pack. I never got this one, but I do have a later version of the Kashyyyk Scout Trooper with 75261.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Interesting to note. LEGO came up with the Phase 2 camouflaged troopers. To my knowledge they didn't appear in anything before that. All we saw in the film were the "scout" style, wearing camo.

Ahhhh, the days of battle packs that were roughly $10.

Gravatar
By in Singapore,

I have 3 of this, but it's now selling at 10 times the original price!?

By in United States,

Great minifigs, terrible build, cheap price. Good times. Wish I had more of the Clone Scouts…

Gravatar
By in United States,

I wish I had gotten this but instead I got the Utapau troopers battle pack, which is essentially the equivalent to this.
If Lego made modern versions of these clones, combined with actual blasters they could make one of the best clone battle packs of all time.

This was the first one I purchased multiples. I opened one... one of nine!! ;)

By in Netherlands,

75043 supplement pack. It's cool that the vehicle is actually a canon vehicle for once but it still has creativity with the blasters.
Speaking of... this was the era where every blsster was a stud shooter.

By in United Kingdom,

Great example of a battle pack, minifigs that are unique enough for the collectors but still easy enough to army build with, and a neat little build that feels suitable rather than tacked on

By in Finland,

I love how they attached those clip pieces to the droid body. It looks like the torso of a SW scarecrow.

We’re never getting affordable Kashyyk Troopers again…

There was regular armor with gray markings as well.

By in Netherlands,

All the battlepacks from this wave were fantastic. They should make some Kashyyyk troopers in the new style to go with 2020 and beyond Clone Troopers.

Gravatar
By in Lithuania,

I'm so happy I stocked up on the scout-style troopers the same year this came out. I always wanted to build a huge Kashyyyk battle scene. I found about 20 scouts on Bricklink for €3 each in the same BL store in the Czech Republic and bought them all. This was among the best battle packs ever, but the Utapau Troopers one has to be the GOAT beacause of all 4 figures being in the movie. And it had Kamas!

The ones who say, "All these Wookies are dead."

By in United States,

I remember wanting these guys because of their camouflage and thinking "they look like army guys, like my brother!" I ended up getting this set along side 75037 which actually made for a great battle combo

Gravatar
By in Spain,

aahhh when Lego properly printed phase 2 clone troopers

Gravatar
By in United States,

Speaking of battle packs, am I the only one who’s noticed that the new 327th battle pack is the first clone battle pack to have all four minifigures identical?(ignoring the rangefinder)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

This is when Clone Trooper minifigures were at their best.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Oh my, what a set! Not only 4 amazing clone troopers but also a decent ISP included! This set got me out of my somewhat Dark Ages, as it sparked again the will to buy new sets.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

I was deep in my dark age when this came out, but what I did have was the original Lego rendition of this vehicle, the one that goes up against the Wookiee Catamaran in 7260. They both use the same turbine piece on the back, interestingly (albeit in dark red on the one I had), and I guess the same seats, but in every other aspect this one is notably smaller than the one from that set.

Then again, given that it's literally a small two-person craft, I suppose the smaller scale here is actually the more accurate one? The original version, much like the Clone Scout Walker also from the RotS wave, may have been massively oversized; but I've never seen this vehicle outside of Lego so I don't have a canon frame of reference!

These clones definitely are a ton more detailed than the ones from the RotS set, too. That said, I still personally preferred the cutout visor slits that the older versions had... xD

By in Canada,

I've got great memories of this one! This was the first year I had looked up rumored set lists, and I was super excited about all the new clone sets! I had my money all saved up, and remember waking up early and getting all my school done so I could go to Walmart early on the first day it came out! (Well, actually the day after. As I remember, they were officially released on Canada's Family Day, so stores were closed) I got this, Utapau troopers, and Battle on Saleucami that day, which is still one of the best days in my childhood, to my memory!

Rarely has street date mattered for LEGO sets, unless you're buying them directly from LEGO Brand Retail. Most store chains in the US stock them as soon as they reach the stores, and I'd assume that Target operated the same way in Canada as they do in the US. Lucasfilm did impose a strict street date on all Ep1 merch in 1999, and again on all Clone Wars merch in 2008. Disney has done so again more recently with a few Marvel movies. Even most licensed themes are pretty easy to find by the day before the official street date. I've seen the One Piece ship, and a couple of the new SW sets, none of which are due out yet in NA.
