Awesome set maybe my 4 year old son's first SW set at the time! Wish we had 5 more...

By in United States,

This is when I gave up on Battle Packs. The figs were cool, but the build looked awful to me. Also, while neat to have Geonosis style camouflage figs, they should have been based off the Season 2 Arc in The Clone Wars. What that means is they should have been Phase 1 and ARF troopers. I wouldn't have held out hope for the troops with the earmuff/headphone type helmets, but that would have been neat to see.

By in New Zealand,

Amazing minifigures. Definitely one of my favorite Star Wars battlepacks.

@Huwbot has been on a major Clone Battle Pack kick. The AT-RT is really quite terrible, but the figures are really cool! To have the Airbornes for a standard $13 Battle Pack was quite crazy.

@MCLegoboy
The Arfs in Geonisis version would’ve looked really nice. I hope TLG will make Arfs again someday, but we’ll see I suppose.

The figs were cool, the walker was garbage.

They really need to do another Geonosis battle pack but with the ARF troopers from S2 instead. Maybe with an opposing battle pack featuring Geonosians?

By in United States,

Back when this set came out, I thought these guys actually appeared in The Clone Wars. It wasn’t until a few years later that I discovered otherwise.

Lot of clones in the sidebar right now, huh?

I was thinking the same thing.

I don't like being a beacon of negativity. But my gracious we've fallen so far in just 10 years?

By in United States,

remind me again of when Clones wore Phase 2 armor to Geonosis

Gravatar
By in United States,

I have no memory of this -place- set

They're breeding like, well, clones. That is to say, they aren't actually doing anything but something keeps plonking new ones down next to the rest.

Definitely one of my least favorite clone battle packs. The walker was fine, but I didn't love the trooper designs. I dislike the realistic style for some reason. Stud shooters were a big minus as well.

Wow. Someone washed their whites with their colours today.

The Clone Wars series, presumably?

Gravatar
By in United States,

I just like how there's 20 blue transparent studs in one set

Gravatar
By in United States,

Noncanon but should've been canon

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

And with their Kashyyyk counterparts still so high up on the sidebar too

I assume it's one of the non-canon entries, similar to the Sandspeeder.

Gravatar
By in Australia,

Never cared for the non-canon BPs, but this is pretty cool in retrospect.

By in United Kingdom,

Goes well fighting opposite 75088 when need a 6 and single stud shoot out. Then bring in aerial support with 75084 and two 6 shooters to create a real melee.

Gravatar
By in United States,

Finally a set I have! These were my first clone troopers!

Even though these clones aren’t technically canon, it is confirmed that the republic had to take Geonosis from the separatists around five times, so it is likely the campaign went over into the p2 era of the clone wars.
Regardless, these are amazing clone troopers. You could say they also double (if I may use that term) as Ryloth troopers as well.

By in United States,

they don't make clones like they use to

There were no further invasions of Geonosis after the Second Battle of Geonosis featured in The Clone Wars, as the Republic had taken over building the Death Star there by 19 BBY. It is possible or even probable, however, that there would have been a Clone Trooper garrison on Geonosis to supervise work, particularly since the Geonosians rebelled against the Republic at least once.

So, I have this set, but I have no idea where in star wars these clone designs are used. If they are clones at all and not specialized stormtroopers

I’m pretty sure there’s info on how many times certain planets had to be retaken by the republic on Wookiepedia, but it also says the republic fought on Utapau three times so content on certain campaigns might not be entirely canon. Also keep in mind the clone wars didn’t show every campaign, or only brief scenes of planets. The battle of Felucia in season 3 of the Clone Wars is a great example of this because you know the Republic returns there during the outer rim sieges. Other planets have brief battles in CW only to be retaken by the Separatists later on such as Saleucami and Cato Nemoidia (although it’s not surprising that these planets have more combat later in the war because of General Grievous launching his major offensive in Season 7 of CW.

By in Canada,

These clones are even more "made up" than the Kashyyyk P2s. The other types of clone actually seen in Geonosis camouflage would have needed new helmets, but Lego could have made ARFs, especially since there's an AT-RT in this set.

By in United States,

Honestly, I like Star Wars LEGO when it "off-roads" from canon: Star Wars is an enormous sandbox, and sometimes it feels too small when LEGO only samples little bits of official media (looking at you, only two Andor sets....), but this is a bit counterbalanced where there are things that are not just outside the quarter century parade of X-wings and Millennium Falcons, but off the "depicted in official stories at all" path entirely.
