A pretty nifty set - having each cockpit split off into its own vessel was a cool feature, Deathstroke as a villain finally was nice (even if a touch nonsensical), onboard computer system was funny.
Those super jumpers made any other gimmick look like a premium play feature.
Such a good set packed with play features.
Reminds me a lot of 8633

How was it nonsensical?
I always liked the Robin minifigure in this one.

Dick Grayson's New 52 Robin costume. It, and Jason Todd's in a Juniors set around the same time, were sort of odd choices since they were never worn in the "present," just a few flashbacks, but it's nice to have the variety.

I still think 8633 would have been a great Batboat.

I didn’t mind them at all, since neither was really feasible for figbashing, unlike Earth-2 Robin, Carrie Kelly Robin, Stephanie Brown Robin, or several Robins who appeared on Teen Titans Go!
I specifically bought the set for Deathstroke, so my Deadpool minifigure could have a friend/someone to annoy.
I actually do have the *Incoming* sticker, and the piece for it, but mostly not all of the pieces from the set unfortunately :skull:
I love those minifigures! I always wanted this set.
Awesome play features, bad looking set.
Didn’t those dumb clear jumpers end up cracking minifig legs? Or making them more susceptible to it?
For all the high end crimes and jobs Deathstroke normally takes, a smash-and-grab diamond heist seems very low key. Burned through too much of his savings on too many failed murder-the-Teen-Titans plans?
I remember this beautiful set so well, it's super playable and was one of my favorites in high school!
This boat is built on four dinghies (only two of which are removable), the only time that piece has been incorporated into a larger model. In fact, 70006 is the only other set with more than one of them.
I love the little superhero jumper piece because none of these characters are flyers, but I suppose if anyone could actually leap a couple times their own height, it would be Batman.
Although I slways like innovative new vehicle designs and vehicles that have multiple detachsble vehicles, I always found that the actual vehicle of this set lacks sonething beyond the detachable cockpit boats. It does have a small computer section but I feel a little lab or hidden shooter would have helped. That said, I'm really hsppy to see an actually original Batman set again. Wasn't this one of the last good waves before DC superheroes went downhill though.. ?
(The excellent TLBM nonwithstanding)
Yeah, I think I like this one's little console. For its size tgat's all you can reasonably ask for. So overall a good set!
I wish I bought stuff that I’d value (like this) in 2015 instead of collecting every Mixel which now mean nothing to me.

They had a base that you seated the feet into, and when you rocked the legs back into the bracket, two spurs would snap into the lower holes on the back of the legs. The spurs had a horizontal bottom edge and protruded into the leg cavity, so you had to lever the legs forward quite a bit to get them free. So yes, by the time you’d inserted and removed the legs even one time, the spurs had cut notches into the lower edge of those leg holes. At that point, repeated attachment and removal would probably finish the job, but even if you threw the super jumper in the trash, you’d already created a weak point near each heel, and just normal play patterns might provide enough stress to finish cracking the heels, given that those are the specific holes used to attach minifigs to seats in most vehicles. Even if they didn’t outright split, the spur cuts aren’t exactly subtle. When I first encountered these, I took a spare set of plain black legs and popped them in and out just to confirm my suspicions, and the super-jumper remains pristine while the legs take all the abuse. I recently needed to acquire a specific Ironman minifig to make Iron Squirrel, and checked the movement on the limbs because it’s dark-red from the bad years, but it wasn’t until I got home that I turned it around and noticed the heels were cracked. I didnt take pics before taking it back for an exchange, but between super-jumpers that were really designed as a permanent attachment, and various colors starting to turn brittle over time, it’s always a good idea to carefully inspect the heels of any Used minifigs you buy.
Surprise, surprise, I have this one...mostly for Deathstroke the Terminator/Slade, but never-the-less..
Also, this was a PEAK year for Lego DC stuff; as TLG released: 76028: Darkseid Invasion and 76040: Brainiac Attack w/nary a 'Bat' in sight...but also: 76025: Green Lantern vs. Sinestro, 76026: Gorilla Grodd goes Bananas, and 76027: Black Manta Deep Sea Strike; all of which, yes, have a 'Bat', but focus 'outside' of Batman ('beyond' him even:)). The 'focus' is more on: Green Lantern, Flash, and Aquaman respectively...And...I WISH TLG would LEARN from this era and start putting more Non-Bat/Low-Bat sets for/with DC...just me...:|
I made this set into a bat-themed tricycle, and that build is still the best looking MOC I ever made. Unfortunately, I do not remember how it was built.

I especially wish they'd make more Green Lantern sets.
@TheOtherMike: And you are not wrong...roughly 7200 members (3600 'sectors' w/2 members per, but I'd argue 'there's probably more, if Earth is your template'), and we've gotten what...4 I think (Hal, John, Jessica, Simon...yeah, that's it...:()...but what about Legion of Superheroes...2-3 members of that team (scratch my head on Superboy...I think Conner Kent did wind up in the 30th Cent., but...but does it still count?)
Anywho, 2018 was another great year; adding: Lobo, OMAC, Firestorm, Killer Frost (those last two not in the same set, oddly enough)...and MORE SETS SANS 'BATS'/LOW-'BATS'...IT CAN BE DONE...:|
Oh, and 'DC aside'...awful lot of 'water' sets in the side-bar...maybe Huwbot needs a day at the beach...:)
@brick_r:
The only other GL minifig you missed is the Ryan Reynolds movie outfit from 2011 SDCC, but that’s just an alternate version of Hal Jordan anyways. And it looks really odd next to the other four because the design is so different.
@PurpleDave: Yeeeah...but that's still technically Hal...I mean, Yes, we break-down every Batman (Batmen? Batmans? Wonder what Oxford would say...:))...Plus we're referring to the REAL 'DCU' (as in 'just the comics'), and just Earth 1...that gets are total back on track, although it cuts out Alan Scott (Golden Age GL)...Hmm, we could add Charlie Vickers, if you have a spare Hal, but that's a mid-cut:)
And tangentially, McFarlane Toys just add 'Darkstars', a generic and a John Stewart/Ferrin Colos chase...and we STILL haven't DC CMF 2...:|

Remember, I bought 60 torsos and 58 legs on OPAB back in the day, and I don’t think I used more to an half of them yet. Plus I originally had 30 custom-printed torsos which I’m still hanging on to at this point.
@PurpleDave: Yes, I remember the legendary 60:)...I always guessed that they were ones from 76025 (the generic GL uniform) or 11914 (John's uniform)...Ironically, there's a GL in 70840, but again 'Hal' and it's TLM2...wonder if it could've been used as a base for Parallax...nah:)

They were the Hal Jordan comics version. I don’t expect any of the others made it past the IP lock onto OPAB. But I did pick up a few copies of the DVD that had Cruz, and three copies of the book with John. I’d also previously made both Kyle and John using the Hal Jordan bodies.
