Eh, he doesn't have any arms or legs. Does it really matter? What's he going to do about it? Bite your kneecaps?

These little pull backs are great. I have 4582 It is the set that has stayed built the longest out of my whole collection.

I have no explanation for it, but in my early 20s I actively collected printed minifig helmets. These little Racers were a great source of unique ones.

No explanations needed, I did collect a few things myself, then it got out of hand. I feel for the people collecting modulars or Star Wars or what ever. Over time I managed to control my urge to collect stuff. Right now I'm down to collecting only the alien minifigures in CMF. And the clowns, I forgot clowns. Oh my...

Oh yes he does, they're molded onto his body just like the seat and steering wheel!
Whether or not he can use them is a different story, but he technically has them.

What's with the face? How do your teeth and jaw work like that? Or is he in pain from his body getting squished into that shape?

Just because his onesie has them doesn’t mean there’s anything inside.

I was going to make a joke about how, with the way Lego names its characters, that could just as much be the driver’s name as the vehicle’s but apparently it actually -is- the driver’s name. Way to simultaneously take the wind out of my sails while also justifying me, well played Lego

I have that one too, although its parts were long ago sorted out into organizers.

It's the fourth Fratelli-brother, Wrath.

I wonder how many disappointed kids thought they were getting a proper mini-fig with this set, and never brought Lego again.

If they couldn't tell by looking at the picture that the set didn't have a standard minifig, Lego probably wasn't the toy for them, anyway.

'I'm going Turbo!' - the guy from this set

What - expand his moveset, maybe give him some additional palettes, increase his speed-settings, maybe make him and three other bosses playable, allow him to fight against himself in clone-battles?

You'll note that it was M. Bison who first said that in "Wreck-It Ralph". You know, the guy from the game whose first expansion was literally labeled "Turbo". That was some really unfortunate script-writing, man.

He kinda does have, if you look closely.

His helmet got reused for Storming Cobra, which interestingly has the starting number directly before him. Also both are likely from Team Maverick (as the other members are also green/lime).

It's weird how many different prints were introduced for Drome Racers. Then again Xalax Racers also had 3 unique prints per car...

Ah yes, the Lego set that if you paid a certain amount for, you got a bunch of ice cream free with! Or, wait, should that be the other way around...?

I mean, evidently that wasn't the only way to get this set, as Brickset has a stand-alone price for it too. But I remember definitely getting this guy - along with his friend / rival 4591 Star Strike - as part of a Walls' ice cream offer in Tesco, where if you bought something like five of their products you got one of them as a free set? I don't remember the specific details now, but I do know that was the basic gist of it at least.

On a different note, judging by the colour scheme this car / driver should be part of Team Maverick in the Drome world; but it doesn't fit in with the typical Drome naming of [team name] [car name]. I guess Lego just decided to give these tiniest sets stand-alone names, but I do wonder what the in-universe justification could be for the car not being named Maverick [something].

Officially, I don't think any of the Drome minifigures had assigned names - the human characters in the comics and media did, but their looks don't actually match any of the physical minigigures -; but when Bricklink (relatively recently) started counting these driver-figs as minifigures, it seems like it was decided to be easier to name them after their vehicles, since each one is unique to a single car, than to give them descriptive names. Cataloguing this figure as "Flash Turbo" is a lot catchier than "Drome Driver, red torso, lime scale-patterned helmet, bandaged head"...

That said, the fact that Bricklink could easily multi-purpose the set names as driver names and have it work still agrees with your point! ^^

Any relation to Flash McQueen?*

*as Lightning McQueen from Cars was known in France.

I like how they still managed to give it a unique design with the green round 1x1 bricks on the sides and with the taps at the back.

Fun fact: this minifig head is unique to this set. It has a white headband under the helmet btw.

Unfortunate script-writing, or clever misdirection? What "Going Turbo" actually meant wasn't revealed until a good bit into the movie.

Depending on your age, this COULD be a by-product of having imprinted on Unitron and Spyrius at an early age.

...it's my excuse, anyway.

He’s at least bloody that’s for sure. Must’ve crashed while going turbo.
