Blue Parts Pack. Looking at the other sets released that year, it appears that 400-1 was the Red Parts Pack, and 404-1 was the Yellow Parts Pack. Pretty neat.

They should have chucked one more piece in there. Then its set number and piece count would be the same!

I can't find the yellow one.

One of my favorite sets as a kid.

Universal Lego Set…as long as it’s some form of mechanised industry!

By in United States,

Had this as one of my earliest sets! So much functionality, a great precursor to modern 3-in-1 sets.

By in Netherlands,

These Universal sets were Universally great!

I don't know how many international users you have but that is going to be a painful statement for users in Indonesia, Turkey, South Africa, Taiwan, Ukraine, Brazil, United Arab Emirates, Peru, Israel, India, Morocco, Chile, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Argentina, Costa Rica, Colombia and a few other countries as Bricklink is banning them all from the marketplace.

Wow.... not surprised by some of those countries since they ban basically everything that's fun, but for quite a few of them I do really wonder why....

Well, at least its not banned in North Korea.....oh wait, they basically banned the internet....

Bricklink is shifting more in line with TLG's TOS (too bad they weren't shifting more in line with TLG's site security). There's still Brickowl, though.

By in Netherlands,

Such good sets, that show what can be done with limited colors and parts types, instead of adding 100 types of 1x1 tiles , wedges and brackets everywhere (not saying those don't have their own advantages but still)

Probably tax collection / compliance and LEGO deciding it is not worth the costs of setting up for relatively small numbers of consumers at BL.

Had this (and 400 and 404) as a kid and really enjoyed it. Still have the parts and instruction booklet!

By in Australia,

My first ever Lego set, back in 1978 when i don't think my parents really knew what Lego was. Brilliant at the time, and the parts would go on to be the basis of my very rudimentary classic space spaceship MOCs. Yes, I still have it 47 years later!

Id love to have new versions of these builds with proper minifigures and updated pieces.

There's one specific area where you wouldn't even need to update anything: the helicopter's engine uses a piece which is still in production, if you ignore mold variations: https://brickset.com/parts/design-98302

Seconded. I wouldn't even need that many updated pieces.

Never knew this existed, 404 was more popular. Alternative uses for rail pieces and big chunky wheels. I think that crane operator lifting the jeep onto the boat is going to need a bit of help from a 'huge' hand. Does anyone know where to find instructions as links return blanks?
