Merry Christmas!

Posted by ,

Christmas Day has arrived in the UK, so Merry Christmas from the Brickset team! We hope you have a great day and receive some presents with that familiar LEGO rattling sound!

At the time of writing, Brickset members own 47,642,828 sets between us, an increase of over three million compared with the same day last year! As always, it will be interesting to see how the number continues to rise over the next few days, as new sets are added to collections.

Huw, Chris, Grahame, Jonny, David, Dylan, Ben, Megan and Alice – the Brickset team.

Thank all of you for this wonderful site, which helps keep me cheerful when my spirits sag, even if it also means I go on spending far too much on plastic bricks! Happy Holidays and a very Happy New Year to us all!

Merry Christmas all!
I wonder how many other afols (like me) won’t receive any Lego for Christmas since everyone assumes they already have all the sets.

I see you have decided to wage a war on Cruxmas. Make peace with your gods, for today is the day they die.

But also, happy holidays."

Hey, I was just pointing out @yellowcastle's choice of phrasing. Direct your seasonal wrath in the proper direction.

By in Germany,

Merry Christmas indeed!
As is tradition over here, we had the Celebrations (and most importantly the presents) yesterday evening already, but there were no LEGO sets this time (and no, not any alternatives either).
I might build the Enterprise D over the holidays though which I got for myself a couple of weeks ago. Or the used copy of 8865 I bought on ebay a few days ago, but that's still in the mail. This will complete my collection of the "classic" Technic supercars (853, 8860, 8865, 8880).

By in United States,

Merry Christmas all—may all your bricks shake with that familiar rattle—

I was opening up a gift from my in laws and I shook it, thinking this was the one. But I hope they didn’t see the disappointment on my face when it was a FAKE LEGO SET. I was very polite and oohed and ahhed over it.

Those first two need bodies to be supercars. Granted, the bodies on the other two are pretty gappy. (Which doesn't make me want them one bit less, mind you. I'd have killed to have those when I was a kid, and would at least maim for them now.)

By in Poland,

Merry Christmas!

I got the Enterprise from Santa, pretty pumped about it. Merry Christmas to all!!!

Gravatar
By in United States,

I am giving three sets this Christmas. Better to give than receive.

Gravatar
By in Germany,

@TheOtherMike: I used the term "supercars" quite losely. Meaning more something like "the largest Technic cars of their respective eras".

Gravatar

Merry Christmas to everyone!

Just got 40774 and 75691, and received 72040 and 75400 last night. Gonna be a fun next few days of building!

I’m excited for my eldest daughter to unwrap 910051 Mushroom Village and my son to unveil 910045 Siege Encampment.

Don’t yet know what blessings I may have received from Santa but any LEGO is always better than no LEFGO. :o)

Merry Christmas to @Huw and his gang of misfit staff and to all my online chums here…

….especially Dave and his doctoral, purple, and EE doppelgängers,; those with Style as well as Style; the Mikes and the other Mikes; the LEGO powered and the alt brand powerless; the Mark of the Bugle and the lesser marks; the many C’s and the rest of the elphabet; the Thrawns and Alice’s as Heirs to the Empires; and those who May no longer question what’s up with that.

I believe that’s the crux of it all.

May your gifts rattle and your families be filled with Joy. For tomorrow we ride and unleash our completely balanced and nuanced opinions upon the lords and ladies of LEGO.

By in Belgium,

Merry Christmas to everybody reading this, the team behind Brickset and the people in the trenches at Lego. My Lego hobby is balancing on the edge of a new dark age but sites like Brickset keep the flame alive. Here’s to less “politics” in Lego universe and more Leg Godt, less greed for profit and more Lego creativity in every theme. I wish foremost good health for all Lego fans (and space to build and or display your creations).

SWOOOOOOSH went the 75400...!

Only Lego set I got today, but also the only one I asked for so that's perfectly fine by me! I must admit I had never understood the typical AFOL attraction to swooshing sets until I had this little thing in my hand, but now I just can't help myself!

And while not Lego, still Lego-related: the Blocks Book of Retro Lego Sets vol 3, too. And what do you know... if anyone remembers, on the announcement article for it, I commented that I was excited that it included features on two of my childhood favourite themes (Adventurers, Rock Raiders), and wondered what the chances were of it containing a Bionicle article too, to round out my big favourite trio.

Spoilers: IT ACTUALLY DOES...! :D

In any case. Happy Christmas, everyone, and God bless! ^^

Merry Christmas to all fellow Bricksetters and the team for their hard work in keeping us all updated on our favourite hobby! Cheers! :)

So more "flagship car sets" than "supercars."

I'll extend that to those who are forced to stand outside, only looking in the windows, never joining the gathering. You know, the ones who are not whimsical professors.

When I read that, I couldn't resist swooshing my copy of that, then vrooming my 77237 for good measure. I also vroomed my Hot Wheels BttF time machine and swooshed the hover version, which I also have. (So looking forward to 77256!) (Incidentally, the BttfI version says "Back to the Future Time Machine" on the bottom, and the hover version just has copyright info.)

They're the "leap over tall buildings" version of super, from back when possibilities were more restrained.
