Happy Hero February everyone. Just a couple days left until it's all over and you have to wait another 11 months.

By in Australia,

I didn't buy any of the hero characters, but I thought the animal-themed villains this year were pretty amazing.

By in United States,

Semi-quick lore. The planet Quatros was home to a lot of Quaza, a rare material used to make HERO cores. The villain Witch Doctor decided to start an illegal mining operation on the planet, using special Quaza spikes to mind control the local wildlife and force them to serve him. Among these creatures were giant scorpions.

Interesting that the BIONICLE reboot also used the term "Scorpio" for its scorpions

71513 must have taken inspiration from this.

Hero February? Is that supposed to be a play on Hero Factory?

One of many Lego arachnids with an inaccurate number of limbs.

I saw this at a Bricks and Minifigs a couple years ago for $20 bucks and to this day I still kick myself for not getting it.

By in Turkey,

Impressive design. But my favorite in this line is 2283 Witch DoctorR, which I didn't get and still regret...

Doesn't look a darn thing like my astrology sign...I'm worried...:)

Scorpio!
He'll sting you with his dreams of power and wealth.
Beware of Scorpio!

His twisted twin obsessions are his plot to rule the world
And his employees' health.
He'll welcome you into his lair
Like the nobleman welcomes his guest
With free dental care and a stock plan that helps you invest!

But beware of his generous pensions
Plus three weeks paid vacation each year
And on Fridays, the lunchroom serves hot dogs and burgers and beer!
He loves German beer!

By in United States,

They really showed what CCBS was capable of with this wave, too bad they didnt make any creatures as interesting as these afterward

I am truly depressed I was too young to have any bionicle or bionicle-adjacent sets :( I remember seeing pictures of them when I was young and thinking they were so cool. LEGO should resurrect this line and it would sell much better than certain other sets. Looking at you 75427

By in Netherlands,

This is one of the most CCBS sets of all time. By that I mean that it went HARD with the building system in order to construct its shape. 2011 was a very experimental year for the then-newly debuted system and it shows, but it does make for a build rarely seen before or since, and nowhere else to this funky extent!

You can see its funky build a bit more clearly here:

Witch Doctor is a little pricey but he is very fun to build. Sadly CCBS never reached those heights again, I feel like it's potential was really squandered.

By in Germany,

It's a great-looking creature from the third wave and a vast improvement over the Fire Station sets. Unfortunately, the legs cannot carry the weight of the body structure but I'm happy to own this one, it's full of character.

Ever heard of Dronuary, FebRovery, SHIPtember, Mechtober, NoVVember for the Space community? Constraction fans started their own themed month to build things based around Hero Factory throughout the month in February. It started a few years ago.

I think I preferred her costume on Gladiators.

Don't forget the (sadly defunct) Octrainber for the train builders!

By in Poland,

I had this set as a kid. Really enjoyed it except for the two middle legs, which were way too stumpy. The building techniques were a lot more fun than the usual ccbs set I had at the time, and it expanded my collection with some really useful pieces, like the shortest ccbs bones, or the pieces with sockets on both ends! (Too bad they were red, so didn't work for my every moc tho)

Never heard of the drone or train ones either, but the other four I’m aware of.

No Metru Build March or Makuta May?

By in Czechia,

For me, Hero Factory never filled the void that Bionicle left but the designs started getting really interesting around this jungle wave, always liked this guy and the Witch Doctor

Never heard of those either. The only Bionicle calendar event I know of is August 10th.
