Review: 40911 Mini Pokémon Centre
Posted by SetToBuild,Pokémon Centres are a well-known location in almost every Pokémon game. As each game has evolved, the services these establishments offer have also grown, but they’re best known for healing injured Pokémon free of charge.
Shoppers can now get their hands on this delightful model through the LEGO Insiders Reward Centre for 2500 of their hard-earned points, equivalent to about £16. Let's go take a look!
Summary
40911 Mini Pokémon Centre, 233 pieces.
This adorable memento is the perfect spot to heal up your newly adopted LEGO Pokémon
- Insider reward instead of GWP
- Cute microscale model
- Action feature
- Inconvenient for shoppers without spare points to spend
The set was provided for review by LEGO. All opinions expressed are those of the author.
Box
Thankfully, the box art is a fully decorated standard box instead of the yellow generic ‘box with insert’ seen in other rewards centre gifts like the Marine Chronometer.
The box contains four bags, two loose 6x8 plates, instructions and a sticker sheet.
Completed Model
The red roof and Poké Ball emblem are the most defining features of the structure. Stylistically, this one seems to resemble the ones found in the Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu/Eevee! games and in the real-life theme park, PokéPark Kanto, in Japan.
Pokémon Center found in the game Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu/Eevee!
The back of the Pokemon Center is open, however…
…one half of the roof easily comes off to reveal more of the interior. Here, you can see the only printed element in the set on the left wall. This 1x1 bread tile depicts a PC, a device found in Pokémon Centers that has a variety of features like storing Pokémon and items. The print can also be found on the headrest of 77244 Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team W15 E Performance.
This furnished Pokémon Center cleverly utilises small pieces to illustrate the counter, bookcase, couch, glass table, and plants. Behind the counter is a Pokémon healing station decorated with a sticker showing three of the six spots occupied by injured pocket monsters. A sticker of the Poké Ball logo can be seen on the floor.
Pulling the lights on either side of the Pokémon Center opens the glass doors.
The new 1x1x1 2/3 SNOT brick with studs on three sides is used to hold up the facade and side walls. I wonder if they’ll make one of these with studs on only two sides. This piece is currently only available in black in one other set!
An extra printed 1x1 of the PC is included. It’s looking quite suspicious!
Conclusion
The presentation and quality of the model make it a worthwhile purchase, and the proper box made a big difference to my perception of its value too. 40787 Mario Kart - Spiny Shell was also 2500 Insiders points and had almost the same number of pieces. However, the folks who lose out here are those who don’t keep a points balance. They’ll have to spend over £300 to earn those 2500 points, so for people who haven’t got those from past purchases, this is a raw deal compared to a standard GWP.
In the UK, 2500 points is nearly £16. This might seem like a lot in points terms, but a Gift With Purchase of this type and size would probably cost £20+ on the secondary market. Plus, fans who don’t want to shell out for the larger 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise and their GWP won’t feel left out getting something special. You won’t want to wait too long though, so make like a Rapidash and get to your local LEGO Insiders Reward Centre today!

What is this? A Pokémon-centre for Durants?

Clearly Natu! ("Not you", haha... I'll see myself out)
Is this supposed to be based on the anime design? Because this looks nothing like any of the Pokemon centers in the games

Looks like none of the non-free rewards are available in the US?

I got the VIP email about this and clicked and spent my points but the code does not seem to be working in Australia. Anyone else having issues with it?

Please consider contacting Customer Service to refund your points. According to Jay’s Brick Blog, the email for AUS / NZ VIPs accidentally linked to the UK VIP rewards page. The code won’t work for Australia and the set will launch at a later date.
Well, I redeemed the reward following this link, but I forgot to switch my region so now I have a useless code that can only be redeemed in Europe, hopefully I can call customer service and get that sorted out
"Thankfully, the box art is a fully decorated standard box instead of the yellow generic ‘box with insert’ seen in other rewards centre gifts like the Marine Chronometer." This has almost one hundred more pieces, so probably wouldn't be able to fit in one of the yellow boxes. Also, as noted in 5009157's review, "[I]t is uncommon for yellow box GWPs to contain stickers..." That might also be why no yellow box.
That said, I'm looking forward to getting this! I had the Pokémon Center music playing in my head the whole time I was reading the review.

The second picture in the 'completed model' section might be of some assistance :)

Thanks @Bricky_Dee_Williams That would explain it. I’ve messaged the customer service team already when it didn’t work so hopefully they get back to me and I can get the points back. Didn’t even notice that it was not the Australian site when claiming it as it kept me logged in. Surprised it actually used my points to be honest.

I called the customer service team and was told the Pokemon Centre will be available late March in Australia due to shipment issues. The sets are still on a slow boat to our tiny island.
In the end, this may be the only Pokemon set I can oddly enough, justify. I got it for my kid who's a huge fan. Definitely worth it for him. Thank goodness I didn't use the points in the last few years.

Also on the US site they have LEGO® Insiders Reward: Sweepstakes - LEGO® Star Wars™ SMART Play™ Superbundle for 0 LEGO® Insiders points, the eligible countries are France, United Kingdom, 50 United States, Germany and Australia. But wait I am not from any of these countries but I still could enter in the draw for the reward.
The approximate total retail value of the Prizes is $1200 AUD / €660 EUR / £580 GBP / $660 USD.
This is now available in Australia. I redeemed mine this morning.
