By in Australia,

An awesome set. I miss the City starter sets.

Good to get the deep sea diver in a cheap set (the guy in orange compared to the more regular scuba divers although I acknowledge the theme itself is called Deep Sea).

That figure could also perhaps be used for a cosmonaut. (especially if using the classic space helmet in white)

Is there a proper name for those like very deep depth diving suits?

The RFotD is from a set I want, the RSotD is a set I want... I feel like Huwbot is taunting me.

I love sets with 2-4 minifigs and a few side builds. Very approachable.

By in Turkey,

My deep sea diver from this set flies a spaceship now. Yes, he became an astronaut. Because he was needed there.

I'm not sure I'd considered a crowbar a standard part of a diver's kit but it would be more useful the more you think about it

Deep Sea Diving Suit? Except they should look more like 8833.

By in Netherlands,

I generally love diving sets, and even in this subtheme we had the great 60096 Deep Sea Operation Base and 60095 Deep Sea Exploration Vessel. But this set and some of the others somehow never appealed to me. I guess I prefer the Aquazone sets, the 1997 Divers sets and the 2007 Aqua Raiders over the mid 2010s City aesthetic, which to me feels a bit bland.

This set in particular is a good way to get more divers, but personally I feel like this set skews too far to the ROV 'vehicle' over actual fun terrain. And why would you need armies of divers? The terrain feels like it lacks character as well. It feels like the budget was stretched because of the shark, what with there being 3 instead of 4 minifigs. Which became common at the time after that.

And yet.... it's still a great little set. It's affordable, you get a large animal (which was a new mold at the time), you get a mix of terrain, vehicle and figs, and overall it gave a good sample of the subtheme. If it was out today I would have bought it in a heartbeat :)

By in Finland,

LOL, there was no longer a need to start a deep sea in 2015... Alpha Team was there back in '02!

I own 60072 and 60077. These types of sets were so good, sadly I don't think a return is realistic.

I also prefer the 90s Divers to anything since. I'm working on collecting those for a multi-level display and they're a neat bunch of sets. I do keep any of the modern diving figs I find though, since it's always nice to have a variety of fig types and some of the updated parts can be nice.

I really liked these sets, they were usually standouts of the wave when LEGO City was in its 'oversized helicopter' era. Diving subtheme in general was pretty good that year.
