Today's random set is 30205 Pop Star Red Carpet, released during 2015. It's one of 51 Friends sets produced that year. It contains 33 pieces and 1 minifig, and its retail price was US$4.99, which equates to about US$7 in today's money.

It's owned by 2,970 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you should find it for sale at Brick Owl, BrickLink, where new ones sell for around $3.30, or eBay.

Man, I thought it was Clikits at first when I read that title and the image hadn't loaded yet. Got ahead of myself.

Except no one is there. She can't be much of a star then.

Looks like a stage to me, not a red carpet.

Well there's a star on the trophy and she looks to be singing pop music, but I'm not seeing a lot of red or carpet

@Lego_lord: Bazooka?...I usually use that as a heavy-laser:)

They know the red carpet is what happens -before- you get on the stage, indeed before you even get in the building the stage is in, right?

The audience seem to be real people, not minifigs. That's a bit weird.
There's somebody doing the annoying "heart" thing bottom left. Ten years ago. It's been around longer than I thought.

By in Netherlands,

Interesting concept for a polybag: an awards ceremony stage. Not too playable I suppose as the minidoll can only give a speech and maybe have the camera malfunction on her. But with some imagination kids can use this as a stage for singing too. It was a nice add-on for the 2015 popstar subtheme though.

The 1x1 tile used as a screen on the camera is a nice touch.

Deadpool marketing included at least one instance of the titular character doing the heart hands, which indicates it was already overdone 12 years ago. If it wasn't, Deadpool wouldn't have touched it.

I've been collecting Friends since the line came out (I have almost one hundred sets), so you'll get no judgement from me.

My first set with that piece was 6659, so I thought of it as a camera for years and years before seeing people using it as any kind of weapon.

This is the only friend's set I've ever bought. Cheapest way to get that hairpiece, which was perfect for a Lego version of my wife!

I'm mostly worried about that skeleton leg she has on display. That's a regular minifig skeleton! Is she some war general accepting an award, and is that leg from the corpse of her enemies?

That camera has been used at least once per year every year from 1982–2025. Ominously, the 2023, 2024, and 2025 sets were all nostalgia issues, and it doesn't have a 2026 entry yet. I hope it lives on. There's something comforting about the endurance of 1980s-sized technology in Legoland.

Problem is, part of the mold actually broke between the scope and the barrel in 2025, and the affected parts prevent 10355 from being assembled correctly. You get two in that set, so as long as only one part is defective, you can use the good one for the chin cannon on the cockpit module. If both of them are defective you really need to get a replacement to finish building it. I'm curious if they've repaired or replaced the damaged mold already, or if they have plans to do so in the near future. If they just scrapped it, that might be why there's no usage yet in 2026.

"1980-something technology? Now you're talking!"
