"Do you remember the LEGO Store, Mr. Frodo? It'll be mid-June soon, and the GWPs will be in stock."
“Let him go, you filth. Let him go!! You will not touch him again. Come on and finish it.”
You may be cool, but you will never be “I drove off a giant spider demon spawn with a shiny sword and an elven nightlight” cool.

I've got a few Hobbit friends here in NZ. Well that's what they say they are maybe they're just saying that because they're just short.

Don't forget the only ring bearer to not be tempted by the ring! And elf-warrior!
Samwise Gamgee. A brave and loyal friend, and the second Frodo is in danger, a stone-cold hairy-footed turbo-charged unstoppable killing machine.

Sam WAS tempted by the Ring. But he resisted, which is more than can be said for some.

Because the Ring couldn't offer him anything that he wanted, as he was content with what he had.

A lot of the older LotR head prints were better. This is not one of them. The expression itself isn't bad, but his vibrant orange eyebrows are far more pronounced than I remembered when it first came out.

Sauron was a ring bearer and not tempted by it, he was its master.
Can you imagine some Middle Earth history student going through the annals of what happened in the War of the Ring?
“Ah Shelob, the most feared spawn of Ungoliant, so terrible even Sauron was wary about dealing with her, finally killed in this time by…some hobbit gardener? Named Sam? Alright I suppose weirder things have happened. There were other big name threats in this age, let’s see about them. Ah yes like the Witch-King, Sauron’s strong right hand, slain in battle by…oh you’re kidding me another hobbit? At least a princess was also involved in that one. And it’s not like Sauron himself was finally done in by-oh come on! More hobbits? And one of them’s Sam -again-?! Where are these guys coming from? The Shire? Where, what the hell, Saruman dies?! What are these guys made of?!”

There's a reason Gandalf made the choices he did.

He didn’t have Rosie Cotton. Not yet, at least.

If you want important things done, in a hurry?
Find a hobbit.
Po-ta-toes! Boil em, mash em, stick em in a stew
"It’s like in the great stories Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered.
Full of darkness and danger they were, and sometimes you didn’t want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy.
How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad happened.
But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come.
And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer.
Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why.
But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn’t. Because they were holding on to something."
"There’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it’s worth fighting for."
One of my favourite film speeches, and something that gives me hope in dark times.
Frodo wouldn't have gotten very far without Sam.
There are times we all need a Sam, and times where we need to be a Sam for others.
Help others, every step of the way if necessary.
Simple acts of kindness and love by ordinary folk is what keeps darkness at bay.
Sam is the true hero of Middle Earth.

Sam wasn't in The Hobbit, he was born 90 years after Bilbo.

Hobbits - they bow to no one.

True, but in terms of Lego The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings are typically treated as a single category.

"The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings" is the theme he's grouped under. Theming can get wildly controversial at Bricklink. They lumped all of DC and Marvel (including TLBM, but excluding the original Batman theme) under "Superheroes" even though DC Superheroes and Marvel Superheroes have never been treated as being under the same umbrella (including having blue vs red color schemes). And then they got this license. While Harry Potter eventually introduced the Wizarding World theme that encompassed both the Harry Potter films and the Fantastic Beasts films, no such umbrella theme got introduced for the works of Tolkien. LotR is strictly LotR, and The Hobbit is strictly The Hobbit. But then Gandalf and Sméagol appeared in both themes, and there was disagreement over how to catalog those minifigs. Some wanted to echo Wizarding World and create some sort of Middle Earth or Tolkien theme, but that got rejected because there's never been an official theme under either of those names. So the eventual compromise was to just combine the two official theme names, kinda like when two nations end up merging and can't agree on which name to keep, or what new name to switch to.
samwise the brave
I think of Sam every time Bob Ross paints a tree and then goes "Shoot, let's give him a friend shall we? After all, everyone needs a friend".

This comment gave me a laugh.
"Then let us be rid of [the ring], once and for all. Come on, Mr. Frodo. I can't carry it for you... but I can carry you! Come on!"
Dang, that scene just makes me cry every single time. Sam is SUCH a good character.
On a side note, I definitely prefer this minifigure's hair colour; I've no idea why the newer version made him so ginger, but it really doesn't feel like a good match for him. This version has a much nicer torso print too, in my opinion, with its more detail in both his belt and the various creases on his shirt.
He’s a hobbit, fat hobbit who hates Sméagol and who makes up nasty lies!

Huh. In 2012, Samwise had this color, and Merry was dark-orange. Starting in 2024 with Rivendell, they flipped those two haircolors, so now Merry has this lighter color and Sam has dark-orange. For Rivendell and The Shire, it's an easy-ish fix to just switch the two hairs. For Barad-dûr, you'll need to pick up an extra one of these because there's no Merry to switch with. For Minas Tirith...well, that one's easy, since neither of them is included. But I'm hearing hints that Edoras is next year, so that should come with another Merry minifig in Rohan garb, and even things up.
