And two of those are reissues of the other two. Also, why the "trn" number? Isn't that used for figures associated with trains?

That was my first thought as well. Second was that dude's going to club that Octan guy for not pulling forward from blocking the gas pump before he starts the lengthy ordeal of changing his tire. People gotta get to work!

Yeah, that is odd. I would think it would be "twn".
Very classic minifig. I might even have it. Maybe. Lol.

I have a theory for that. Since Dan started Bricklink in 2000 he had to start coming up with part numbers for everything so he started with late 1980's and early 1990's sets. If you look at 4558 all of the figures start with trn even though most of them are figures with town torso prints. He also started naming the Blacktron 1 figure as sp001 when he could have started from the beginning with the 1978 white and red printed torsos. Probably wasn't a whole lot of history to help go back that far so he started with what he knew. Just a theory.
As an aside, that torso print also came in set 4558 and is trn023 but the torso print itself was first introduced in 1979 as trn088. You'll notice 088 is higher than 023 from 1991 Metroliner.
The name’s Bland.

I don’t have either of the releases or the re-releases. I’m not jealous though.
Slyboots before he turned to crime. The outfit is identical, after all; he just hasn't yet gained the top hat, glasses and facial hair that would turn him into https://brickset.com/minifigs/adv038...!
Joking aside, I find it pretty strange that Slyboots (a.k.a. Sam Sinister v1) is the only character in the whole Adventurers line to reuse an already-existing torso print; every other, whether hero, villain, or guardian, had a new design made for them. I had, in fact, assumed for the longest time that Slyboots' torso was likewise unique to the character, and was quite puzzled when I learned in later years that it predated Adventurers by an entire decade.
I'm still curious if there's a significant reason why he is the only character from the theme to reuse an existing print. Did they just like the torso design that much? IS it supposed to be an indicator that he was a regular guy before turning to villainy? Or did they simply run out of new print slots before they'd given everyone unique designs and had to improvise with an existing part for the last one?
I doubt we'll ever know; but still, I do wonder about it...
@LuvsLEGO_Cool_J:
Town minifig numbering gets...weird. Where Space and Castle subthemes got merged under their respective main themes, Town got split up under a series of arbitrary, often merely descriptive sub-groupings. And as happened with Gandalf and Gollum, once assigned, the ID generally doesn't change (unless they need to increase the number pool).
@oldtodd33:
Starting with Blacktron I only made sense. Firstly, it's Blacktron I, the coolest, and thus Number One faction of Space. Second, it's Blacktron _I_. Third, if you lined them up in chronological order, you know Blacktron I would still end up at the front of the line. And fourth...well...you know.
@ThatBionicleGuy:
The rules were different back then. I don't think they had formal "slots" available to generate new prints, and new prints back then were a lot less common, and reused to a ridiculous amount.
His name is George and he's dating the red-haired girl, Daisy, from the Breezeway Café set.
At least in my childhood world, where every toy had a name and a background story. George's job was to dine in a restaurant.
I thought this guy would have been from the late 70s or early 80s. The parts and prints were all around back then right?
Also he is totally Burt Reynolds. He is going to audition to play Lego Darth Vader.
