5002946 Silver Centurion is available now with purchases of the LEGO Marvel's Avengers video game from selected retailers. While the game seems to have received a lukewarm reception, this polybag is proving very popular and is currently fairly expensive on the secondary market as a result of its exclusivity.

In addition to the minifigure the polybag also includes a code which unlocks the Silver Centurion for use in the game.

Minifigure

The Silver Centurion is the tenth Iron Man suit to be represented in minifigure form and is the most detailed yet by some margin, with intricate printing on almost every surface! The helmet consists of two pieces as usual and the faceplate can be raised to reveal the head underneath.

This features new designs showing a bruised Tony Stark on one side and a grinning expression on the other. It waits to be seen whether the same head will appear in 76051 Super Hero Airport Battle or any other Iron Man minifigures in the future.

The torso is printed with detailed armour on the front and back but this is obscured by a large armour element which was introduced for the Legends of Chima range. This covers the entire chest and suits the Silver Centurion perfectly as the prominent shoulder armour is faithful to its appearance in Iron Man 3. Printed tiles are placed on both sides and these designs match up perfectly with those on the torso underneath.

The legs are similarly detailed on the front with some silver highlights but the printing on the sides of the arms and legs is particularly unusual and has not appeared on any other Iron Man minifigures. These intricate designs look splendid and the inclusion of dual-moulded arms works very nicely in breaking up the dark red colour scheme.

A pair of trans-light blue cylinders and 1x1 round plates are included to replicate the glow of the repulsors. Perhaps the only criticism which one might make is that the armour is much bulkier at the top of the chest than at the bottom, although I think that suits the Silver Centurion quite well. The Silver Centurion armour is top heavy in the film, but this has been exaggerated quite significantly. Pleasingly, the printed designs on the torso allow you to remove the heavier armour altogether if you prefer.

Overall

This is a spectacular minifigure and challenges for the title of my favourite version of Iron Man yet, perhaps even the best Super Heroes minifigure yet! The bulky chest armour looks splendid but can also be removed to reveal some lovely printing underneath. The inclusion of a brand new Tony Stark head is a bonus.

Whether or not this polybag is worth purchasing depends on whether you have been collecting earlier Iron Man suits. If so, this is a must have but if not then you might wish to save your money for one of the upcoming Captain America: Civil War sets.

Expect reviews of those sets in the next few weeks and stay tuned for a Super Heroes related building contest which we are hoping to run!

I don't want to spend $60 for one figure though. I think I'll stick to collecting just regular "retail available" Iron Man suits (still need the Triangle Arc Reactor Suit, the Iron Legion figs, and all the new 2016 figs)

I don't have a console, so I have no reason to buy the game. This is one of my favourite minifigs ever, though, so I'm going to have to sell something to afford it, as well as everything else i want at the moment...

Which movie was this in? Was it part of the "House Party" at the end of IM3, or did I miss it somewhere else?

While I am still shocked they have made a comic book version of Iron Man, this version is amazingly done. The level of detail in the all over printing surpasses every other minifigure I have ever seen.

@Schmidt: Iron Man 3, "House Party". It's one of the many suits that Aldrich Killian rips apart in the final battle, as far as I can remember, which is presumably the reason for the bruising.

Awesome. I always felt a tad disappointed with how the other Iron Man suits looked because of the giant head piece, but I think that the armor on this one works very well. It makes me wish that they would start using the armor from 2015's 71008 Galaxy Trooper fig and Ultra Agents sets or something similar.

Shame they're not giving it away with the Wii U version of the game.

Can you still get this guy with the game, or was it just for GameStop pre-orders?

That is one amazing minifigure.

I didn't especially like the figure till I read the review, but as is often the case, after seeing Brickset's review I now want to get hold of it. I still feel a bit burned from the Avengers game that came with Iron Patriot. I bought it on PS3 when it was first released to get the figure but didn't get round to playing the game. Then when the PS4 came out I bought the game again, but STILL didn't play it. It would probably make more sense to buy this guy individually regardless of what exorbitant price he's going for as I still have roughly 20 years of Dimensions to work my way through with my 4 year old daughter.

Fantastic figure for a fantastic game! I got this with my copy of Lego Avengers and it's definitely one of my favourite minifigures, due to the sheer amount of detail they put into it.

If you don't play the games, just do what I do: pre-order the cheapest version (in this case, it was the 3DS version) and then sell the game after you receive it. I usually have to sell the game for less than retail to move it, but considering the price that the figures usually go for, I'm fine with that.

@spacysmoke that's a great idea for people above who don't want the game!!

I've loved LEGO games since the original LEGO Star Wars came out and I can't wait to get this one and the figure that goes with it! I actually just called my local GameStop where I preordered it to check the hours and their stock to go out and grab it tonight rather than wait for the weekend!

I absolutely MUST HAVE THIS MINIFIG!

This is a great-looking minifig, and that Tony Stark head might be seen again in the rumored fourth Civil War set.

But... I can't get this without spending far too much money. :(

Bought the PlayStation4 version of the game that comes with this minifig! Great looking minifig I must say!

Spaceyspoke you can just return the game after buying it without the figure. They don't give a crap.

^ Yes, I know, but I personally wouldn't feel right doing that.

After posting my comment the other day, I picked up the game and WOAH THIS IRON MAN IS THE BEST EVER!!! I love the game and love the figure! 10/10!

I'm lucky enough go to own all the iron man figs so far (apart from the ridiculously priced Iron Age one). This is easily the best of them, in fact it may well be the best minifig I own.

Gravatar
By in United States,

^Agreed. This is by far one of the best Minifigs that I own.
The game is great also.

Do we know which retailers, if any, are still offering the minifig with the purchase of the game?
