All of the Elves sets we've looked at so far have been absolutely charming. Today we'll look at the smallest set of the wave, Emily Jones and the Baby Wind Dragon. The box art (front and back) in various exercises teaching Fledge how to fly, using a chocolate bar as enticement -- one of several new pieces in this set.

Inside the box there are two unnumbered bags and instruction booklet. No stickers! Our minifigs are Emily Jones and Fledge, the baby wind dragon. Emily comes with a new torso, a nice dark blue top with white accents, and of course her necklace amulet. She has a new pair of shorts, and I really like her red and white tennis shoes. She comes with a basket filled with cherries - perhaps a snack for both her and Fledge?

Fledge, like all the baby dragons, is just adorable. He is purple with purple wings - the wind dragon is the only one we don't see an adult of in this wave of sets. Considering we do see one in the artwork in the instruction booklets, I imagine we'll see the wind dragon soon. I can't wait. Fledge comes In a jewel cut egg the same colour as he is.

Accompanying the little wind dragon is a nice piece of landscaping - with a waterfall, small cave and a moss nest. As is the case with many Elves sets there is a moving mechanism. In this case it's a wobbling stone over a creek that is designed for Emily to help Fledge learn to fly. There is great detailing on the tree with the new colour of branches with jewel flowers. I really like how the Elves designers have taken the trouble to have some action in each one of their sets, so there's always a little surprise.

At $9.99 and 80 pieces, this is a little on the expensive side if looking at parts numbers alone, but there are a lot of newer pieces in this set in lavender, azure blue and light green. Besides, I think Fledge is adorable and worth it on his own.

This set makes for a great complement to the other sets in the wave - I just wish we had an adult wind dragon to build in this wave.

I just love all the transparent pieces, and all the interesting new colours and shades. They're so eye-catching, and the little dragons are adorable. It's a cute little set, it's so sweet. I too have assumed that the adult wind dragon is not far away.

I'm not gonna lie- I would have loved this as a kid. I was obsessed with dragons and dinosaurs and all things relating to their eggs. Great review! I may actually have to pick one up just for the elements and... Maybe a little playing before disassembly. ;o)

Yep, the adult Wind Dragon will be coming in http://brickset.com/sets/41178-1/The-Dragon-Sanctuary! Her name is Gust and she is built similarly to Zonya the Fire Dragon, but with four wings.

The landscaping in this set is nice, and I really like the introduction of lavender stone in this year's sets. The function in this set is a lot less exciting than the function in most Elves sets, but then, this set is pretty much as small as Elves sets get. The only similar-sized set, Aira's Creative Workshop from last year, had some hidden compartments but otherwise not a lot of "action" features, so it's easy to see what a challenge it probably was for the designer to incorporate action play into this set.

I love the transparent wings, tummies, and spines of the new baby dragons! They're so sparkly! Same goes for the eggs, although the eggs' size makes it difficult to re-enact this year's story, in which the Elves carry up to four eggs at a time on their journey!

Emily wears really stylish modern fashions, just as she did last year. And I too love her colorful tennis shoes! The candy bar she carries in this set is nice continuity from last year, in which it was established that dragons love sweets.

Thanks for this review! This is one of the few LEGO Elves sets from this year I haven't gotten yet. I'm sure I might get it eventually, mainly for Fledge, but since it's one of the lowest-priced sets I didn't feel compelled to get it on the AFOL discount day at the LEGO shop like I did with most of the larger Elves, Nexo Knights, and Ninjago sets on my wish list.

This is one theme that I don't have any of, cuz it's not really my thing, and my kids aren't old enough for them yet. But they sure do look incredible! I too would have loved these as a kid. Vibrant colors, cool elements and overall cool theme. The sets just pop.
