Today's random set is 2870 Paradisa Barbeque, released in 1997. It's one of 47 Town sets produced that year. It contains 19 pieces and 1 minifig.
It's owned by 621 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you might find it for sale at BrickLink or eBay.

It's suprisingly playable set for the size!
Love the torso, cat and the pizza.
Got his as a birthday gift. I think it is the only Paradisa set I have. Quite a good one.
love
I know this is only a small set (probably the mid 90s equivalent to a polybag), but I can honestly say that this is one of my favourite sets ever. It's just so cute and sweet, and with so many details (the flower, the umbrella, the barbecue, the kitten).
If there's one change Lego has made over the decades that I wish they hadn't, it's not stickers, it's not fleshy minifigs, it's not even the price hikes - it's updating the pizza piece. That thing was iconic.
Paradisa is perhaps the best out of town subthemes.
Mmmmm... fried square piece of cheese.
there were paradisa sets released in 1997? I thought the theme ended earlier.
I love the Paradisa sets. I played with these (Well, not this one that never seemed to be available in the States; there are three that were not available here, I think.) well into my late teens, and would still probably play with them pushing forty if I had the time! I used Paradisa as the setting of an epic soap opera full of violence—evil twins, serial killers, bombings, earthquakes, fires, floods, horse tramplings... Someone was always being being pushed off the balcony onto to the driveway of Poolside Paradise. My figure was the brown hair, sunglasses, black tank, and white pants. I was the mayor of Paradisa. I wish the YouTube age had been then, so I could have made videos of my Paradisa stories.
I own a bunch of these as they were given away at gas stations in my country; absolutely loved the pizza piece, and the Paradisa theme as a whole. Although I appreciate what Friends has done and is doing despite not being my cup of tea, it remains a shame that it has forever consigned the hopes of a Paradisa revival to the rubbish bin
^ Funny, just a few hours ago I wondered why there are so many copies of this set from NL on BrickLink... ;)
Such a cute little build, it's sets like these that really bring LEGO displays together, so versatile and compatible with others!
