Cool little set. It foreshadows Master Falls from the Ninjago Movie range (and is probably inspired by any number of adventure movies from Tarzan to Indiana Jones).

Another one I actually own! I really liked this one too. The bridge over the scorpion pit was wonderfully macabre, and that's before they threw in the pikes. And the little treasure cave at the back was just icing on the cake.

I loved this line. As a kid, I loved the story, but instead of getting the system sets (i got a few), I got most the constraction figures. Just recently I bricklinked the rest of the knight minifigs. For those of yall in the US, on bricklink there are only two sellers in the Us with a rascus minifg . . .

Good heavens, they actually found a way to use the football kicking piece in another set!

That flying brown rock makes me all nostalgic for Pohatu...

I loved this set when it came out!

It was launched at my dark ages and I was happy about that. I really do not like this line for Middle Age sets. I prefer the classic Castle set, which can help you understanding the History.

Used to play with this set all the time as a 10-year old, along with Citadel of Orlan.

Please bring back the castle/kingdom sets they was awesome and could mix them with Lord of the rings even relaunch Vikings that would be something spectacular

I wish I had been old enough to buy this set and others from it's wave when it was in stores. The knights were so cool! If Lego brought back Fantasy Era, added Vikings and threw these guys in for good measure, that could be a long lasting fantasy theme with nearly unlimited story options!

@JonMarten: They also used that piece a lot in the Vikings and Dino Attack themes for some of the earliest flick-fire missiles (you used the kicker piece rather than your finger to flick the missile). It was pretty effective and certainly creative for its time, when most other projectile functions still used more specialized shooters and ammo.

I do like this series of articles as it highlights sets from themes I’ve either not heard of, or not investigated fully. This was during my dark ages but looks like an excellent little set :)
