Today's random set is 7893 Passenger Plane - ANA version, released in 2006. It's one of 33 City sets produced that year. It contains 384 pieces and 4 minifigs.

It's owned by 4 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you might find it for sale at BrickLink or eBay.

By in Australia,

Lovely colour scheme. I wonder how those stickers are holding up these days? Would be a very nice addition, nonetheless.

Why do only four people own this set? Is it exclusive?

@ColbyCustomeBricks - yeah, the sticker sheet and box were limited to 1000 only. It was an airline promo. Tap/click the link to 7893 to see Brickset's database entry which gives more detail on the set.

It looks awesome... But 4 owners only? I know it's a specific version, but that means few sales on the whole... How many on 1000 boxes have found a buyer I wonder.

I remember when this one was added to the database last year. Very elusive for its time.

By in Germany,

These random sets help me to get my "own" list on BS more accurate :-)

Those of you confused as to why there are only 4 owners, that's because only 4 brickset members have the set. These are not global tallies pulled from store inventories, it's all based on the honor system of the members here. If it was global and didn't rely on members then it would be 1000.

McLegoboy I know of course that BS members do not represent all Lego fans and users over the world :) But I just imagine that if there is only 4 owners of this one among all BS registered users, so this rare set is probably owned by a relatively small amount of people overall.

The sudden desire to find sets that you previously had no idea existed before, but you have to have it now, is what I call the "Brickset Effect"...

More on topic: the standard version of this set 7893-1 was the kickoff to the new large-scale airport sets, moving away from the previous "4-wide" airliners of the 90's. Beginning of the end or a welcome new era? You decide...

A friend owns this set, his wife grabbed it for him while traveling overseas at some point.

Unfortunately it is just set number 7893 with an additional sticker sheet shrink wrapped to the outside of the box. No special packaging...

I would be inclined to believe no more then 100-150 brickset members own this set (10-15% of the ‘production run’). It is highly more likely that many kids own this set because their parents bought it to keep them quiet on a long trip.

Amazing that such a huge plane only has 384 pieces, that's a lot of BURP's! I've always wanted one of these newer wide body airplanes, although I wonder how out of place one would look sitting on the runway of my old school airports (6393 and 6396).

An interesting rarity

I saw the picture and thought "Brickset is showing random Lepin sets now?"

Playmobile called - they want their plane back!

@LegoSolo77: Don't even try, the scale of the old and new airport sets are too far apart to look good together. Possibly the newer airport terminal buildings would fit in OK among the classics, but the planes themselves, not so much.

I actually really like the sticker design on this one. Looks so much better than the original
