Random set of the day: Crusader's Cart
Posted by Huwbot,
Today's random set is 1877 Crusader's Cart, released in 1990. It's one of 8 Castle sets produced that year. It contains 60 pieces and 2 minifigs.
It's owned by 809 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you might find it for sale at BrickLink or eBay.

Fits nice together with the 1974. But is there a difference with the 1680?
@Peter1975 There are 3 minifigs in 1680.
I hope I got some extra part so I can build this cart myself. However, to get the minifigs will be a bigger challenge.
6038 is a kind of spiritual successor to this set. The hidden compartment is large enough to fit a minifigure. Love the simplicity of sets from this era.
Forestmen!! I have this one, I think, though I have an extra minifig in the bag with it, so I may have 1680 version, not 100% sure. Either way, it's a great little set to go with the other forestmen sets. It's one of only five sets to come with that old brown pitchfork, so that was one good reason to pick it up back in the day (aside from the part about it being Forestmen of course). I'm really fond of those old round dark gray shields with the stud in the middle, and for whatever reason this set included one of those instead of the forestman shield (which is also awesome by the way).
I never understood why this set was named "Crusader's Cart" and not "Forestmen's Cart". Aren't the Crusaders the faction of Castle that was imprisoning the Forestmen at this time? (See the Dungeon Hunters set)
Cute little classic!
@natro220 My interpretation was that they stole it from the Crusaders, being Robin Hood-esque characters.
What always amazes me about Castle sets from this era is how much they don't need brown. This cart is almost entirely black and blue and it looks perfect. Make this set today and it'd be brown and dark tan and I'm not entirely sure it'd be any better for it.
I have the minifigures (bought in Bricklink) and now trying to construct the chart with my own pieces..
Gandalf Arrives.
