Had the red one, never got this guy.

Had the white one--the other white one, with the wings. Never a big Bionicle fan, but I did like some of the designs and picked him up. In retrospect, they're pretty cool and I bet if I'd been 10 years younger I may have been into them.

By in Australia,

I got the little orange helper dude (because there's just not enough orange Lego), but I think I skipped most of these, they were just too odd.

My favorite Makuta from 2008. The fold-out arms were always a cool feature to me!

Ah, Chirox. You mad scientist you. I never got Vamprah sadly, I always loved his look. Really, I loved all of these dude's looks, they gave me a vampire/demonic feel, what with all the fangs and organic rib-cage-bombs with "leeches".

Never had any Bionicle. Got some Bionicle parts via Bricklink recently just because they were dirt cheap and looked cool. Don't really know what to use them for though. Too highly specialized. Plus they don't feel like regular ABS Lego either, somehow seems to be a "softer" kind of plastic.

Back in the day, I had all of the main six 2008 Makuta, but never all at once. I got Antroz then took him apart, then I got Krika, Gorost, and Bitil and took Gorost apart, then I got Vamparah and Chirox. Since then I've rebuilt them all save one of Krika's Nyran bolts.

I loved the dynamic between Mutran and Chriox, the pair of mad scientists who dueled over who could make the coolest Rahi. Add on the fact that they both looked so similar at face value but actually had radically different wing+arm builds and it was a cool pair. A shame Chirox's death wasn't highlighted like the other Makuta's were, he deserved a proper send off!

@AustinPowers: I believe a lot of the mask, weapon, and armor pieces are polyethylene, like some plant pieces, or polypropylene. The joint pieces are usually polycarbonate (same material as transparent bricks).

Chirox never excited me as much as Antroz or Vamprah, but I loved the vampiric theme of all three.

By in Netherlands,

I'm glad I was in my dark ages at that time :-;

By in United States,

So wish I could find a cheap Antroz. Chirox was the only Makuta I had from that wave.

By in Netherlands,

I got this together with all the other 2008 first wave of sets after my birthday. Chirox interested me the least from the Phantoka sets, but even then I played a great deal with him. Loved that you could combine them with the little guys and drop the orange ball. Nowadays he, together with the rest still has a place in my room.

@dutchlegofan50: Be honest, what difference would it have made if you weren't in your dark age? It's not as though sets like this would have kept you from finding other 2008 sets that interested you. And if a set like this came out today, I doubt it'd make you want to start your dark age back up again!

This "random" set appears right before a review of the latest Star Wars constraction set. Can these not be changed to "New sets remind me of the good old days" or "see that new set? Here's something to interest you". There is a real theme developing with these random set articles :)
