Any set with a monkey is a good set.

Saw this at my local Bricks n Minifigs store, but I didn't buy it, though it looked really neat.

Ah, Paradisa. I liked this one, although I never bought it. My heart belonged to the Paradisa light-house. Gosh, that was an amazing set.

Kid me was too embarrassed to admit he liked the color scheme and interesting set designs to ever ask my parents or Santa for a Paradisa set. Adult me now realizes how dumb that was.

@natro220: I was pretty much in the same (pink and white) boat.

So calm and soothing. I love that era...

A great base plate. A straightforward but fun build. Loads of play. This was one of my favorite Paradisa sets.

I really liked these sets as a kid (and still do), they have so much cool stuff and calm palette is unique.

As a kid I thought this was a girls' set... typpical boys vs girls story and it would never cross my mind to get one. Today being nearer 40s I'd definately find a place in my city for this set.
@zipper there were times when I had so many monkeys that I started trading them for other lego elements. Today I say: never enough of these!

Oh, I loved Paradisa so much!
I never had any sets, but looking those in the catalogue had such a strong summer-holiday-tropical-carefreelife vibe that I cannot describe. Thanks Random Generator, you made my day <3

This was my first (own) LEGO set. I had the bricks from my Dad, but that one was a birthday gift from a friend of mine. I played with that thing for ages and I still have it. You could build other versions with this set as well.

Oh Paradisa, such a relaxing and soothing venture. It's a shame they don't really do that many beach sets these years ('though, Friends comes close!) as it's such a lovely concept.

@natro220: You always could have done what I did and got them as gifts "for mom" and then built them yourself. :P

In hindsight there's a lot I don't like about Paradisa. Practically everything was pale to the point of looking washed-out or faded, the colors weren't nearly as varied as those in other Town sets, let alone today's Friends sets, pretty much all the subject matter focused on decadent vacation settings rather than stuff that appealed to more varied interests, and few of the figures were really relatable to me as a child, let alone later on as an adult.

Still, I'm glad there was a more feminine theme out there that I got to enjoy, as years later it made it that much easier to contextualize the parts of my life and interests that defied conventional gender norms. Boys and girls today are so lucky to have even better and more varied LEGO Friends and Elves sets to choose from!

Love this set. Bought it new at a toy store in Athens...in 2006!

What an amazing theme, loved so much about Paradisa and it’s vacation/relaxation subject matter.

I suppose some sets are a bit proto-Friends too, although with nice minifigs.

For a long time I resisted getting any paradisa sets, just another theme to collect, but I found a set in a lot of LEGO I got from eBay and the Printed parts alone in these sets are awesome for Mocs, and the baseplates were are nice as well.
