Love this one! Have it put together with tank threads right now!

Never saw this as a kid, got it after emerging from the dark. Like most mid-80's space sets, it's a mish-mash of lots of different parts...and like most mid-80's space sets, it works for me!

By in Australia,

I own this set too, although it hasn't been together since the '80s. I used to use the grey canopy for a rear tailgate door for my space MOC's when I was a kid.

Ooo, look at all of those 1x1 plates. That's a clear early attempt at part inflation!

The tyres are so good! They last forever.

Never seen the use of a (non transparent) windscreen as a shovel. In fact I didn't even recognize the part and had to look it up in the part list. There I found out that there are only four non transpartent colors of this part. Namely Black, blue, light grey (this set is the only one) and yellow.

I have it on display along with the 6805 Astro Dasher and the 6882 Walking Astro Grappler.

Confession time: I've never liked those balloon tires that just go right onto an axle!

Ah, some Classic Space goodness for a Wednesday morning, I agree that he tyres look too low slung for the body to pass over the rocky terrain but . . . . . . its Clasic Space so all is forgiven, I'm off to look at it some more, sigh wistfully and consider getting the set out of storage.

^ They only stay on the site for one day, otherwise the whole homepage would be filled with random sets.

I loved this set as a kid. It was fun to get other random pieces (leftover or not) and push them around or collect them in the bucket.

I had one 30 years ago but it disappear after I leave my parent's home... with all other Lego sets. Little sad to see it now.
