Aww, it's so cute.

Odd-scaled vehicles notwithstanding, '78 seemed to have some interesting sets.

I remember that I had this one. Among my very first set with new style minifig. I know because I still have the bucket and road sign in my spare parts, and that the sticker on the worker's suit did not hold a long time... And I have played too many times in the garden and lost all the rest.

As much as minifigures were a revelation at this time, even as a kid the undersized vehicles were a bit strange, but that era didn’t last long. My childhood Lego remains separate to my current collection and amazingly the tabard stickers for the construction figures remain resolutely in place today

Another random set from my childhood. All those non minifig scale sets went into my parts box pretty quickly though. I don't think I built this again after first getting it.

I have this from when I was 6. I used to play with it in the in the garden, he used to sit on the front. The hinge became loose and the sign was a bit flimsy. However the figure with his overall in particular and the use of colour is iconic for me.

Super Rare Windscreen. Love this set, prefer 670 though. Took me 30 years to get it

I also had this set, but its pieces became integrated into other sets long ago. Now it’s in storage along with all my other childhood sets (until my son is old enough AND we have a house with enough space). It’s one of the rare sets I own where I no longer have the instructions or box. (Only a handful out of MANY!)
