Love this set! Got it for my birthday back in 2004. Always thought the hockey sets were the best designed in the Sports theme; they work super well for play.
Maybe it was Canada being Canada for me but 9 times of 10 if I saw Sports Lego it was basketball or Soccer/Football or that Skateboarding stuff
Saw this set many years after the fact. I think I'd be quite into an updated set or range of these sets if LEGO were to produce them.
Great fun, fond memories from the Skaerbaek AFOL lounge last year! She shoots, she scores! :o)
Awesome!
LEGO should return with the sports theme.
The price for this set looked amazing!
Four years ago I bought about 50 MISB sets from this Sports series for less than € 50. I parted then out on my (then new) BrickLink store and made an incredible turnover on them.
So I have happy memories about the year 2004 (when I was still my dark ages). If there's something like reversed engineered memories than this it is!
Sports sets were experimental and odd, but in a good way. They tried so many things to make the sports actually playable and most of them worked! You could make some fantastic little games and displays by combining the sets together.
For some reason the only Sports themes I remember were Soccer and Basketball, and I certainly don't remember this at all. I always thought the only Hockey Player LEGO made was the one CMF. But two teams of 4 players, two nets, and a whole ice rink for 40.00 (all that's missing is the zamboni)! Sign me up, once I perfect my flux capacitor and travel back in time, that is. Now where did that test hamster scurry off to...
