By in New Zealand,

Sometimes I wonder if this algorithm could focus more on bigger, noteworthy sets...

The Studios line was fantastic. With the rise of Brickfilms and access to technology nowadays, they should definitely bring it back.

Ahh... from the famous "designer internship" line.

Memorable set, one of the finest designs of all time

By in United States,

Other than the spider on this one, Tree 1 was superior in all ways. And Tree 3 isn't even a tree.

(Yeah, I had to go look up to see if those other two existed just now. Tree 3 is as high as it goes!)

By in Sweden,

Fun to see a set that I'd never go looking for otherwise!

This should never have been branded under the Ultimate Collector Series. More like Betrayal at Tree 2.

LEGO should revive Tree 2 as a D2C set

By in Australia,

@cluening So it follows the age-old curse of sequels never living up to the originals?

Random set of the day for sure

"It's way too square, and fails to capture the subtle curves of a real tree."

By in Switzerland,

This is a truly remarkable set. I’ve not seen a LEGO tree before which does not use pieces colored brown, but instead Earth Orange.

By in Belgium,

Brilliant design! It's truly an extremely rare collector's item: just 90 people own this gorgeous set!

Treetwo and levitating spider! Soon in Brickcinemas!

By in Australia,

Some of these studios sets were interesting little builds with great parts.

The infamous "tree" models were not, though.

Witty Comment

Some people want these types of scenery sets to return. I suppose with the current day palette of pieces available, they would be much improved.

All I really know about the Stuidos line is that polybag collectors like me either have to pretend it doesn't exist or otherwise waste a fair bit of cash.

@cluening - at least Tree 3 comes with a cool trans-blue spider!

By in United Kingdom,

Where did all these small promotional Studios sets come from at the time, anyway? Aside from the three minifigures that came on UK Lego Adventures comics (4051 - 4053), I never even knew any of them had existed until years later.

As a brickfilmer, I'd love the studios line to come back!

Gravatar
By in United States,

Maybe that could count as a minimum standard film-worthy tree if one is filming a microfig scale film.

Gravatar
By in United States,

I love this tree design but a couple more minifigures would’ve made it an even better value.

I have never read funnier comments here, best Random set of the day ever :D.

As a person who likes big numbers, I am surprised to know there were Lego sets tree1, tree2, and tree3. tree3 isn't even really a tree. TREE(3) is also know as an unimaginably huge number in mathematics.

Well that confirms that the random set of the day is random! That looks more like a minecraft tree.. Oh how have times changed for LEGO

By in Portugal,

I love the studios theme, I think it was a very innovative theme and I think LEGO should do it again.

By in United States,

This is one mundane set, but it's definitely got some nice parts--that silver spider, the palms, and the 1x3 slopes.

Gravatar
By in United States,

If this set falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

Gravatar
By in United States,

Why do the set numbers not line up with the tree numbers?
4073 - Tree 1
4074 - Tree 3
4075 - Tree 2

Anyways, brilliant set design, as we've come to expect from the early 2000's.

I want this just because it’s literally a set called Tree 2.
