It may be that Friends is so liked because TLG learned why this set and similar were so disliked.

@SSJ2 I never knew that cats had been around that long--my first one was in a Winter Village set and I assumed they were made for those.

What was it that made Belville so awful and/or sell badly? I mean I’m still terrified by the creepy figures but I had the 5848 boat as a kid and absolutely loved it... rebuilt many times as a minifig scale cruise liner!

One big reason that these didn’t sell well is that those figures are NOT minifigure sized.
