This was the last set I received as a child. I think it was a gift from a classmate. I liked the way the roofs tilted upward and the new larger tires. The string fire hose was cool too. I loved this set.

That's better.

There’s something beautiful about the balance and layout of this set in its official picture. Oh and I’ll take classic town - even fire or police - over Clikits any day. It came out a few years before my time so I never owned it, but wouldn’t mind adding to my collection.

So well balanced.

If another classic Town set from 1984 appears as RSotD tomorrow, do you think lack-of-randomness accusations will fly again...?

Oh yeah, that's the stuff. Nothing beats Classic Lego for that sheer shot of nostalgia right into the veins.

That red motorcycle wasn't all that common, nice-looking set.

I am sorry that in my haste I didn’t note that the new motorcycle blew my mind at the time and the fact the the new wider ladder allowed for mini-figures was amazing.

Worth acquiring just for the historical value. It's these wheels with the metal axles and the red, single stud caps that just scream classic town. Awesome.

I can't remember if I had this set or not, but the familiarity in seeing the picture leads me to believe that I did.

Likely my first set I've ever owned new.
