By in United States,

I picked up this, by-then-discontinued, set well after emerging from my extended Dark Ages when I found LEGO trains existed. It looked nice enough, and I am pleased to have it. Since my late purchase was generally around the same time I purchased the Santa Fe Super Chief, BNSF Locomotive, Caboose, Log Carrier, Passenger Wagon, Dining Car, Postal Car, etc., I had no idea how precious was the opportunity to buy single units of engines and/or rolling stock to round out one’s trains.

To this day I do not understand why TLG would not have made this option for additional cars available for the Emerald Night, Maersk, Hogwarts Express, etc.

Perhaps I suffer from my egocentric, limited AFOL perspective, but I would buy many multiples of these suggested additional cars, if they were available.

By in Germany,

The Octan letters on the 2x2 round bricks are actually printed, despite almost all other decals in this set being stickers.

Seriously how great would single car train sets be nowadays. I have the Horizon Express and would love to have a “first class dining” or even a “sleeping” car to add on.

^And even today, the set's piece count and size suggests it may be a $24.99 set if it were released.

By in Turkey,

After seeing this set, I realise I have missed more than I thought in my dark ages... My only consolation is getting 4547: Railroad Club Car when it's re-released.

Man, since when does octan make atomic bombs? I mean look at those things! Lego should expect a big boom in sales if they rereleased this set.

I picked this one up on eBay only a few years ago now, and I'm so glad I did. It's such a cool carriage.

I don't know why Lego doesn't make these single additional carriages for their trains, currently, but I'm glad they did in the past. Better to have loved and lost, etc.

Octan stuff in the early 90s was always the best. Maybe it was all those green pieces that made it stand out, or maybe it was the trio of white, red, and green that made every set with Octan products so appealing!

I feel like I am done with my 9V Train collection for now, but whenever I look to expand my layout, I think this one will be at the top of the acquisition list!

By in United States,

I really wish TLG sold individual train cars. I also hope we see a new passenger train station in 2019. I also would like grade level crossings with signals.

I bought 60052 and 60198 just so I had enough rolling stock.

I am an AFOL who came out of my dark ages in 2018.

By in Netherlands,

Always wanted more 9v train sets as a kid, I only had the yellow/black "cargo" train hybrid which was half passenger, half cargo.

They haven't sold seperate train cars since the early 2000s.

I think LEGO should be releasing more accessories for trains like wagons or similar sets like this one.
This year LEGO did not even launch a major train station as in previous years.

Extra rail cars = always a good thing LEGO!
