Random set of the day: Underwater Scooter
Posted by Huwbot,
Today's random set is 1806 Underwater Scooter, released in 1996. It's one of 7 Aquazone sets produced that year. It contains 16 pieces and 1 minifig.
It's owned by 860 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you might find it for sale at BrickLink or eBay.

First gen Aquazone for the win.
Never got this one, but Aquazone definitely gives me the warm fuzzies. Such a cute simple set, I loved these little sets as a kid.
Aquazone and AquaSharks were legit. Was a completely new concept for a theme. I ended up with only a couple from each side as a kid but I check for sets online ever so often.
This dude is on a mission!
Back when chrome elements were more common!
Ooh I want one. Anyone have extras they want to loan me?
Although I enjoyed this set as a child, I always preferred the Sea Sprint 9 which only cost slightly more.
Aquaraiders(2) got me back from the darkage. So any diveset makes me smile... And go to ebay
OK Bob let's check you've got everything for your undersea exploring mission.
Oxygen - check
Route planner - check
Huge shiny knives attached to the side of your submersible - check
I found several of the 1749 version of this set in a charity shop maybe eight years after its release, all brand new and unopened, so of course I picked myself up one of it. Not an immersive building experience, of course... but quite a neat little set, for having less than twenty pieces to its name ^^
Though, aesthetically, my favourite Aquazone wave was the Stingrays, and I still wish I hadn't missed them by a couple of years xD;
I only got Aquashark sets in this Aquazone theme, but the 6115 Shark Scout and 6100 Aquashark Dart were pretty similar to this.
It's time for LEGO to create a new aquatic exploration theme.
I think this is the first RSotD that I actually own! I was thoroughly in my dark ages when this came out so it must have been a stocking stuffer type present. Love those chrome knives!
I think I had about three of these as a kid, and I have no idea how I got them. I think they may have been given away as part of a promotion or something
I have my full collection of Aquasharks and Aquaraiders sets out on display right now! Seeing Aquaman in theaters reminded me of how cool underwater vehicles could be. I like Aquanauts quite a bit too, although not quite enough to buy the whole subtheme. Sea Sprint 9 is the only one I have from that subtheme, but it's one of my favorite classic sets still!
I'd love to see a modern take on a fantasy underwater Lego theme. Atlantis was the last one, right? It's been 7 years since that one ended. I think it's almost time for another one.
