By in Australia,

Probably technically only 8 sets, since these baby dinosaurs were released twice, once in boxes and once in polybags. I liked the idea of these, even if the execution was a bit ... lacking. Although the bigger dinosaur canisters were still cooler, to me.

It would be mighty unfortunate to meet one of these jokers in the woods.

That is if you happen to be unfortunate enough to get pulled into a time portal first.

By in Czechia,

Every child has its dinosaur period. Including me. This was an attempt from TLG to aim to this target group. I like the canister dinosaurs, although there was very little to be built. Cool was however, that every canister had a brochure with additional dinosaur fun facts.

It’s a shame it was only the tail pieces from this range that really caught on, at the very least I thought the clawed feet from the bigger dinos would have other uses

Finally, another somewhat questionable polybag from the early 2000s.

Huwbot, I was starting to get bored!

Lego has came a long way in dinosaurs. At this scale, brick-built just looks weird.

The builds of these guys are so weird, but I'm curious how they could pull it off with modern techniques.

The pieces from the 'Dinosaurs' line didn't really work at this size (especially given the exposed 'neck-bulb' here) but technically these 4 'baby dinos' were more designed as a kind of advertisement for the larger 'real' sets, so I never really cared much about it. I just liked the extra pieces - especially some for the time unique sand blue and sand green ones.

As I said the last time, the only problem with those was TLG's lack of faith in the system - had they made more parts compatible with the base body and refined the system a little, it might have turned into a cool way of making large animals for various themes even up till today.
