Vestas!
Almost. It must have been a rerelease of the vestas turbine that came out last year.
Cause that makes sense. For those of you who are confused...I’m being sarcastic. You should try it sometime.

Never did buy this one, but it is quite a magnificent truck.
I thought 2009 was a pretty good year for City. Between the construction and agricultural themes, there were some pretty cool sets there.

Always wanted it (as around the time the set had came out, Dominion Energy and BP had formed a partnership for a wind turbine project that, in part, would be on our property, thanks to local officials, it never got past the planning stage), but never bought it. Setting aside the dough for the fancier (and pricer!) Vestas set, which doesn't include a transport truck. While the main kicker for me was the turbine, it's the truck and adjustable trailer that really does it for me. It's an awesome set.
On another note, I'd partly forgotten about this set until now; but wow, look at those Bricklink prices!)

I remember getting this set on Black Friday for 50% off. It’s one of those sets you wish you bought a bunch in hindsight. It’s one of the most “out there” City sets ever, and really looks great.

I have this set and I love it, it's great.
In case you are wondering. LEGO wouldn't release the Vesta set to the public and everyone complained. So they made a City version that obviously need to include a big truck.

I love this set! The truck was really innovative, but mine doesn't see much use now that the turbine has been delivered. It sits astride a hill next to my farm; the hill hides some mechatronics to motorize it. I fancy this over the Vestas one... it feels more to scale with of the rest of my city. Although I just looked it up, and apparently real-life modern wind turbines are taller than the Saturn V rocket... fortunately the scale of my layout is officially set to "what feels right," and this does. And it's simply great!

I bought four of this set. One kept original with turbine as load, the other three I doubled the height of the turbine and fitted 9 volt red mini motors inside controlled by a 9 volt train controller. Looked great on my train display with the blades rotating slowly.

If this was a response to the Vesta backlash, how about a Chinese restaurant set next year, followed by a rerelease of the sets at today's secondary market prices in 10 years time?

Very cool set. I wish there was an image in the database of the turbine loaded onto the truck.

How big would a truck and trailer have to be for the new windmill?

Oh my, that was from 2009? I always thought it was from around 2011-2012...

A superb city set.
One of my favourites.

I have this set. One of the neat features is how the trailer can be configured to carry the blades or the base. So you can have a two-stage delivery.
Wish I’d bought that tower crane to assemble it. Oh well.

This is a set Lego should remake, the Vesta Windmill is awesome but too expensive.

This is a beautiful set that I've longed for, for many years now. I really regret not buying more LEGO in 2009 (didn't really start splurging until 2010), and when I did back then it was all SW's. 2009 had those awesome, and not seen since, farm sets, this giant masterpiece, just a ton of great stuff. Oh well, could've, should've, would've.... There's always BrickLink though... checks price.... nope, maybe I'll save up for the Vestas.

Does it come with a few dead birds below the blades?
