Oh no, not another one of these. While I never owned any of them, and I understand that there are big bulky parts, did they really suck that much? I feel like a lot of people talk about these figures the same way people did of Galidor before it randomly exploded in popularity recently, not actually knowing what they're talking about. But regardless, bring on the hate comments guys.
They weren't that great as Lego (the greatest thing about Lego is the play value of all these different themes all being interchangable ... until you get to these gigantic figures that have to exist in their own little sub-environment that doesn't fit with anything).
But I bought a couple of them (on clearance, I'll add), built pedestals and made them into statues for the centre of my Lego city. They were great display pieces.
Bought a bag of used parts a month ago that had three of these guys in it. Loved 'em as a kid!
No haters so far MCLegoBoy. I think Lego did its market research and decided kids like action figures and dolls (and adults like collecting and displaying them too) so here is a step between Galidor (not so great) and Bionicle (didn't get into them much myself but lots of people did). These sets led to Star Wars constraction figures (with DC superheroes for a short time) so good on Lego for trying new things.
Cool Shield dude.

Oh my goodness I hate this!!
Just kidding. These are great. This is what bionical thought it was going to be but then failed miserably. I mean the most recent bionical line.
They don't look much different than todays buildable figures, maybe simpler.
Great source of those rotational click hinge parts. And incorporating the head, body and shield parts into MOCs is a nice challenge ;)
That sword is one of a number of Knights Kingdom parts that, surprisingly, were never recolored.
I remember being sorely disappointed to get one of these and learn that the shield was from cardstock. Luckily they fixed that on later iterations.
These figures were a great (but expensive) source of rare-coloured curved slopes and armour elements . Gosh, I wish they made more stuff in speckle-copper.
This set is very strange.
I had entered a dark age for Lego when these came out, but picked up most of them when I got back into Lego a few years ago. Seems like they would have been great fun for cross-over play with the 8" action figures that Mego was making in the 70s.
Jayko looks like he's angry with the Knights' Kingdom logo and about to attack it .
I ended up w/8783 Jayko, as it was complete and in it's plastic container (box?) as part of a bigger lot of used LEGO I got in a yard sale some time ago. Never had much use for it, as not many system parts to use in MOC's. Great color though!
