Had this. Preferred old Aquazone and that Diver theme
Oh the memories are flooding back... this is my first LEGO theme (tied with BIONICLE), and this is one of my favorites as a kid. I got this for my birthday, and I was so stoked. Aside from maybe the Atlantis shark this was the biggest one they've ever made, and it was pretty impressive. The tail had a few rubber joints so it would swing side to side when you moved it... side to side. The head was so cool, with a maw full of teeth, and it's all printed to boot! The sub was pretty nice too, I liked the trident pieces and tubes leading out of them, and those spring launchers never disappoint. I even liked the harpoon gun turret, it just works. All of this for $30 was a steal, I should go back and rebuild this beauty. Thanks for the memories!
Yikes. I’ll have nightmares about that shark now. Looks like it wants to eat your foot...
As an appetizer! Guess what’s the main course??
Good sharko! I loved that the tail flexed with one of those old rubber Technic pieces from the short-lived Hockey sets. I'd no longer consider it the best brick-built shark Lego's made (that honor goes to the one from this year's Creator sets), but it's still pretty great, and the sub it came with was decent too.
I didn't mind AquaRaiders (there were some good subs. The base was pretty crappy though). This wasn't a bad shark, but I skipped this and eventually picked up the giant mutated Atlantis shark, because that was so much cooler.
Always wanted just the shark from this set...
Back before I knew about Bricklink, this theme helped expand my yellow collection.
I don’t think I had this set, though.
Still have this set and it's a pretty nice one. It's lovely to see how well those Bionicle tridents (exclusive to this set in black) go together with the Aqua Raiders symbol design. The sub is well done overall.
I've had some trouble with the shark - the tail's flexing is indeed a nice feature, but it tends to break apart, unfortunately. Other than that, the shark looks cool and the printed windscreen piece with the eyes is awesome.
Wish I got this back in the day. Aqua Raiders was awesome
ALRIGHT! This theme was awesome! I was so sad to see it die after only seven sets were made. It was one of my few breakaways from Star Wars, and I made sure I got all seven. I wish it had expanded further. I never got behind Atlantis, I liked the idea of the Bermuda Triangle being the most mysterious thing, not delving into mysticism and magic. There was a game on LEGO.com where you were avoiding little seasnakes (Were they eels or sea snakes? Because it could be either.) and collecting treasure, and in between levels, little trivia bits popped up and one of them said that Aqua Raiders took place in the Bermuda Triangle! That just sounds so cool, and explains in part why all these sea creatures were so big and why there was so much treasure to find, too. Urban legend lent itself to allow these possibilities, which I was able to get behind more than mutated creatures by magical stones and talismans or whatever it was in Atlantis. Long live Aqua Raiders!

I love these theme!
I recently rediscovered this theme after seeing some of the sets on Ebay! I loved this theme as a kid and actually just picked this set up on Bricklink last week, which arrived today! Is it just me or is LEGO lacking themes like this nowadays? We had so many great themes when I was a kid, mars mission, power miners, aqua raiders, dino attack, etc...
Tiger Shark? That things the size of a bloody Megalodon!
I love this theme.
@MCLegoboy, I believe you're referring to Treasure Trench, which I revisited after looking over the Wayback Machine : )
This was the first set I ever owned! Lots of great memories building this, disassembling it, and making tubine-powered sharks and submarines with fins. It's what kicked off my love of Lego.
I really miss Aqua Raiders. It's a shame no other theme since has used brick-built creatures as the villains, instead almost always opting for minifigures driving vehicles and the occasional creature here or there.
