Two Technics in a row? Do I dare get fussy and say that Huwbot is becoming biased?

By in United States,

An impressive specimen on this occasion, I must admit...

(I'm sorry guys)

Two Technic sets in a row? And two yellow ones at that (though the later is less impressive.) Neato.

By in Australia,

Contrasting the two (with 5 years between them), it is interesting to see how the general design aesthetic has changed.

My reaction—
“Oh good, and early technic set”

Looks closely at it. Frowns. No technic figure.
:-(
Immediately loses five points in my esteem.
Now down to only 7,408,652,893,173 points.

These are going to be an hour later for those of us stateside for the next month! That took me a few moments to figure out.

By in Venezuela,

Could anybody more versed in Technic tell me about the experience it provides? I've started to dabble in looking for some Technic sets because they look very cool and intricate (and also to buff up my parts collection to some degree of decency...), but of course like everything else in my country they're very expensive, and Huwbot over here is not helping at all!

By in Italy,

Say what you want, but I think the box arts for those late 2000's Technic sets are amazing, they bring up so much nostalgia

By in Germany,

@Lyonel McBaseplate-11 Are you looking for advice regarding Technic in general or this set specifically?

By in Turkey,

I really wanted this one, but some reason or another I couldn't get it. I guess it just wasn't in the cards...

By in Finland,

Reminds me a lot of 7992 Container Stacker from 2007. This seems like a better set though - not just because it's bigger, but it's obviously more detailed, too.

Technic provides models with technical capabilities: Turn a crank here and something moves over there. Or add a motor to do the cranking for you. In the example here you have several functions. The knob on top of the cabin is used to steer the wheels, a knob on the back extends the telehandler boom, I believe a lever somewhere extends the front stabilizers, and another knob raises and lowers the telehandler. (Well, technically there is a switch and only one knob but let's not get nitpicky). You can add a motor that will turn the knob for you as well as power some headlights.
