Today's random set is 8261 Rally Truck, released in 2009. It's one of 11 Technic sets produced that year. It contains 198 pieces, and its retail price was US$24.99/£19.99.
It's owned by 1433 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you might find it for sale at BrickLink or eBay.

This is pretty good! Nice colour scheme and effective design; with a couple of tweaks I wouldn’t be surprised to see this in shops now.
