By in United States,

You know, this reminds me a lot of the small craft in Benny's Space Squad. Except this uses the parts available in 1983.

Perfect little starter spacecraft with some rarer blue parts and the big space gun. What's not to like?

By in United States,

Weird thing is that someone though it WAS going to be clickits, while another one wanted 928. While it's no 928, it's the right theme at least.

By in France,

So that's both vehicles from Benny's Space Squad this week!

The refresh cycle is very old ... Lego kept releasing polybag-class space scooters like this, all based on that same wedge platform or a minor variation thereof, all the way through 1998.

Huwbot must have declared it to be ‘International Classic Space & Castle week’
I’m getting such nostalgia from the last few days’ sets.
(I remember having this one when it came out)

By in United States,

I pieced this one together on Bricklink a few months ago. It’s rather simple but looks nice. The best part is it maybe only cost me $2 at most (I didn’t get a minifigure and I’m not including shipping)

Remember, never use your gigantic space camera while driving a patrol craft.

I really want to pinch down on that modified plate at the front of the model.

I still don't really know what that tool he's holding is supposed to be. A bazooka camera?

@TransNeonOrangeSpaceman...

"Remember, never use your gigantic space camera while driving a patrol craft."

Why? He's in space. What's he going to run into?

@Mechahamster, I believe it was originally officially intended to be a camera, but the designers knew that it would be repurposed by some kids as a gun. At the time, LEGO had a policy against representing recent historical through to future war, so the designers came up with workarounds including this one.

@Zander I figured as much. I always used it as a bazooka but even kid me knew it wasn't really meant to be a weapon.

This kind of ship is (almost) remade in the Benny's Space Squad design.

Very nice, Huwbot! Maybe another Castle-themed set tomorrow?
