Random set of the day: Res-Q Jet-Ski
Posted by Huwbot,
Today's random set is 6415 Res-Q Jet-Ski, released in 1998. It's one of 61 Town sets produced that year. It contains 18 pieces and 1 minifig.
It's owned by 1313 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you might find it for sale at BrickLink or eBay.

Contains 18 parts and a third of them are for the minifigure alone.
I'm sure we've had this guy pop up as a random set of the day, at least twice now.
RES-Q was one of my favourite Town sub-themes, though, I'd be lying if I said otherwise. And this guy looks great alongside the riverboat and hovercraft.
Never had this set but I always liked how the black front piece was shaped with the multi-angled slope.
Now the jet ski designs are much rounder, recently got 2 in sets (2018 Cruising Adventures / 2019 Fire Station).
I suppose the Fire Station one serves the Rescue job now (don't have Coastguard sets)
@Zordboy, looking at town, it's listed 3 times on Brickset, 2x 1998 sets 6415/6428 and 1x 1999 set 1097
1097 was RSOTD on 11/4/18 as well.
This dude is on a mission!
Zordboby: Yes, it appeared last November. Thanks Dieselville for the list!

Oh, Res-Q! The most ironic theme, because there were lifeguards but no people to be saved
Is that Res-Qer riding their jet-ski on a lawn?
So what does the acronym R.E.S.Q stand for?
^ Rescues Evidently Sent Quickly!
He’s falling back and only holding on with one hand, pretty sure it’s him that needs res-q’ing!
The angles give it a cool sci-fi vibe. Just put a space dude on instead and it's a new theme.
This featured prominently in my childhood, R.E.S.Q was an excellent subtheme of town, the hovercraft with removable buggy was probably my favourite. I repurchased this recently with a few other small sets from my childhood, I'm very glad I did, such nostalgia. These sets are nowhere near as good as they are today but that kinda made them almost better.
1069's Res-Q's taking its time, isn't it? It's been EIGHT MONTHS!
