^Bring that word (cool) to my area, it was 93 degrees earlier, only supposed to be about 65 this time of year!

Oh, and cheap for the number of (I know basic) pieces, at least the Wal-Mart Black Friday ones try to keep the legend alive.

I’m going to pretend that this jumble of bricks could create anything that is color coordinated. ;-)

Ah I remember the days of multi-colored building from my childhood... when polychrome models were the extent of my creative capacities...

I wish it was only 93 degrees! 110 today and 115 tomorrow, but thats normal where I am. It should cool off by October

By in Turkey,

Nice supplementary set. You can always trade the pieces that you don't need.

Wow, wish they'd do this again. Great price per piece and actual bricks. I've been buying several of the current creator boxes for my 5 and 7 year olds but disappointed in the amount of non-square brick pieces, like little slopers and other odd balls. They make it easy to build what is shown in their instructions but I just want bricks.

By in Netherlands,

While this had a lot of colors, pinks, purples, browns and tan are very absent, unlike more recent Classic boxes.

Unfortunately said recent Classic boxes of the past 5 years sometimes had too many colors and only a few parts of 1 type.

For most recent sets, the 2018 60th anniversary versions imo were the best because they included basic minifigs and many different accesoires.

@vaellen22: When the modern LEGO Classic theme launched in 2015, there were decent selections of basic bricks in the two Creative Supplements (#10693-1 and #10694-1). The two most recent LEGO Classic sets with mostly basic bricks I'm aware of are 2017's #10703-1 Creative Builder Box and 2019's #11002-1 Basic Brick Set. But, despite its name, the latter just doesn't have enough basic bricks in quantity, even if it does proportionally consist almost entirely of those.

Additionally I would much like to see a better balance of 1xn and 2xn bricks in such a set, rather than 2xn bricks making up most of the part count. #70825-1 Queen Watevra's Build Whatever Box! — which I will never grow tired of talking about — is surprisingly good about this, having over 3 times as many 1xn bricks as 2xn bricks (though just slightly more 2xn plates than 1xn plates).

@TeriXeri: What I find strange is that brown was in Creator sets in the couple of years before, but seemed to have vanished from the 2004 wave. It was replaced with reddish brown that same year, but reddish brown was in Designer Sets and X-Pods, so I don't see why it couldn't have been included in Creator. Pink and purple found their way into Bricks and More sets before today's Classic, albeit in their own little subcategory of sets marketed towards girls.
