Random set of the day: Stunt Go-Cart
Posted by Huwbot,
Today's random set is 1363 Stunt Go-Cart, released in 2001. It's one of 46 Studios sets produced that year. It contains 25 pieces and 1 minifig, and its retail price was US$3.
It's owned by 375 Brickset members. If you want to add it to your collection you might find it for sale at BrickLink or eBay.

He appears to be flying through the air in front of poorly lit scaffolding. Weird.
A lot of Studios sets felt like Lego had spare parts, lying around the factory, and just decided to get of them.
I think Studios relationship to the initial Spider-Man sets was most interesting. The Spider-Man sets started as an off-shoot of Studios (and the theme of movie-making. The set with Green Goblin and Mary Jane had movie props included), but by Spider-Man 2, had just subtly become their own thing, disconnected from the Studios them.
Blacktron Helmet!!
^ It could have been an interesting tactic to lower down the violence level — it's just a set for a movie !
So, the stunt is "Drive over a comic book in a puny little cart"?
No harness, no rollcage, visor open, hands not on the steering wheel: a crime against Health & Safety.
And that hair is a crime against public decency.
^And all of that is why he's paid the big bricks
Fun fact*- this set was a contractual obligation after he signed up to be Jonny Thunder's stuntman.
*Probably not a fact, possibly not fun
There are a million of these small ATV like designs. It's the easiest way to populate a set. I use the parts to create random space vehicles.
It’s not a racer, but it is still a car!
Does anyone else think Lego must have had a surplus of these heads, originally designed for Sparks from the Rock Raiders theme, around the early 00s? They turned up on the vast majority of goalkeepers in the Sports subtheme (resulting in several football fields that had opposing goalkeepers who looked suspiciously like twins), and again - as here - on most of the Studios stuntmen.
I guess it's an easy way to use up old stock, though ^^
Why there isn’t a range of smartphone friendly movie making sets is strange to me.
