The Pod is the best part!

I really miss these pod designs. Holiday baubles are cool and all but these have uses too

^ I agree. I found those pods quite useful, storage-wise.

The third wave of X-Pods always bugged me because there was no consistency in the colors of the pods themselves (orange/trans-red, white/trans-blue, blue/trans-yellow, and yellow-green/clear) as opposed to the clear canisters of the first wave and the transparent canisters matching the lid colors in the second wave.

Complaining about the holy combination of blue and trans-yellow isn’t socially acceptable.

X-Pods are cool. I need to get some. Because MOCs.

Never had one, but pod really do look good.

Always liked that you could actually use the pods themselves in whatever you built

If you are buying these second hand and the seller says 'complete set' make sure they mean 'including the pod' and not just the polybag

I remember having a lot of fun with this pod as it was the only lego I had with me one childhood move.

I remember when the first x-pods came out in 2005. Someone put them on a shelf early and I picked up the one with the shark. It was my first time seeing the cheese wedge piece

Finally, a set that I have! I lost the pod a long time ago.

I grab this (and two others) when it was a buck on LEGO.com.

@thisisteekay: The first X-Pods didn't come out in 2005. They came out in 2004, when cheese wedges didn't yet exist. In fact, one of the original X-Pods, 4348-1, was also called Aero Pod, and I'm bummed that it's not the one featured today.

I remember there was a huge pods craze in Lugnet\Space back in the day. Funny, though, that I don't think I ever knew they all stemmed from a 1st party set, I just assumed a fan invented them.

Look at the alternate build in the top-right...
Galidor strikes again, even 2 years after it was discontinued!!!
