Oh! This is one of those "legacy" sets, right?

By in Australia,

Yep.

I got the original when it first came out. I played with that restaurant so much, when I was a kid. The number of adventures my Lego characters went on, that began and ended at that restaurant (and it was a great place to throw parties or hold wedding receptions, too).

Another beautiful town set. Two in a row, Huwbot, you're doing well.

By in United States,

That's a pretty lackluster looking set to be rereleased. I absolutely get it with something like the Black Seas Barracuda, but this is a little too bare bones for a 2002 set, even if it is just rerelease of 6376-1 from 1990. It doesn't look bad, it just feels a bit empty, however, five minifigs and a parrot is not bad for a smaller set. I wonder what a modern equivalent to this set would be. Probably something in Friends?

Iconic set. Look, a baseplate!

Huwbot you are on a really good streak, wait, is this preparation for the ugly, bad, and just downright dumb RSotD apocalypse?!!!

But again, really great set, sad I don't own it.

Hey Lego,

Please do a re-release of a re-release.

There are a lot more AFOL around now then there were in 2002, and I reckon these classic sets would go gangbusters nowadays.

By in United States,

On the simplistic side, but still a really good restaurant. City is sorely lacking them. Only the occasional pizza joint as a part of a bigger set, and then we had the pizza truck in a Great Vehicles set some time ago. Most of the smaller City sets focus on the emergency services; or other "action" things.

^ I never did buy that pizza truck. I felt like, pizza from a van is just an epic case of food poisoning, waiting to happen.

By in Turkey,

Such a simple and beautiful design. I love 90's. They sure don't make them like this no more...

By in Italy,

Now I 'm 14, and feel the ocean breeze on my face, and hear the seagulls.
These beach sets and the paradisa sets makes me such a vibe.

Thanks Huwbot!

Those guys must have been hungry after having to climb to the second floor due to lack of stairs. Are those windows prints?

By in Czechia,

Clearly remember the day back in 1991 when my mother bought me this set in Paris and I built it in the bus when we returned back to Czechoslovakia.

By in Serbia,

Stickers.

By in Croatia,

It would be great that LEGO do new version of this set

Man, I remember getting the Lego Legends rerelease of this. I was so excited even if it’s pretty simplistic by today’s standards.

By in Bulgaria,

My first set ever was 6376! Now it looks weird, but back in the day, this was the most awesome thing I've ever seen.

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Really like this set. Maybe it's the memories of having the original when younger.

Gravatar
By in Finland,

I love the notorious illegal building technique under the archway. Also seen in Café Corner. :)

By in South Korea,

I never had this set but remember looking at it in catalogs. I love the curved windows and the archway entrance. The guy with the ruffly shirt minifig, cowboy hat dude and waiter are really fun. I like how the previous poster commented that his minifigs began and ended adventures chilling at the restaurant. Fun idea. Maybe I'll pick up those window pieces on Bricklink and build this thing with my son. I'm pretty sure I have all of the rest of the pieces.

By in Latvia,

Such a classic! Reminds me of the new Friends Restaurant!

By in United Kingdom,

I love this set, I got a lot of mileage out of it, building it until some of the white plastic faded, replacing those bits with fresh bricks when I could. The last time I built it I modified it so it had a much larger dining area and upper alfresco floor.

By in Sweden,

One of my favorite sets of all time! Had the older version as a kid and really loved it. The closest modern equivalent is probably the Friends restaurant from this year.

By in Poland,

My first LEGO. Good old times :)

Gravatar
By in Greece,

Such a great set!

I had 6376 and remember it fondly. The cowboy minifig was a highlight and even though the build itself is pretty basic it formed a proper structure in under 200 pieces. I'm pretty sure I converted it at least once into an airport terminal.

By in Poland,

I have this set ;)

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Charming - simple yet fully satisfying its purpose: you can cook, serve and eat food with easy access to all areas...so much play value!

Gravatar
By in United Kingdom,

Nice place to roll up to in your 4 wide.

Gravatar
By in France,

I never had it, but I remember the 1990 version in the catalogues. It was very pretty, with lots of adventures to créate.

By in United States,

I have 6376-1. I wasn’t going to post, but after reading the comments I remembered a funny story about this set. My father was a landlord/maintenance man for his a man—who became a family friend—who owned dozens of local rental properties. I forced my dad’s boss to buy this set for me because he was a proud Italian and dreamt of running a restaurant. The chef in this set will always be “Vito” to me!

41379-1 Heartlake City Restaurant is in my opinion the true successor to the Breezeway Cafe. I see many similarities between the sets.

By in United Kingdom,

@merman - you think that’s a problem, you should see how they get the food up there.

By in Netherlands,

I need a restaurant in my city. :( I just have the old 675 snackbar for everyone to go eat.

Gravatar
By in Puerto Rico,

This is a set that my parents got my middle sister (I have a younger brother) and after she stopped playing with LEGO she gave it to me.

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Compare this to todays Friends french restaurant.
Its waaaay better.
I like the set itself but lack of food really drags it down

Gravatar
By in Poland,

Would like to see a rerealese but updated in a modern way.

Gravatar
By in Austria,

Love the transparent pieces - a simple and yet elegant set

Gravatar
By in Poland,

One of my first LEGO sets, hours of fun (1990 version). Every night I would put all the minifigs to sleep in the kitchen because it was too cold upstairs ;)
Just like with 6349 I didn't need instructions to build it, I memorized it by constant rebuilding and I knew the placement of every brick by heart. I still remember the names me and my sister gave to the minifigs living in that restaurant.
I know what I'll be building this weekend, thanks Brickset :)

Was this supposed to be the return of Paradisa?
